I really don't know what to say here besides "I'm really f***in stoked". This is awesome!

So, I turned 30 yesterday. The big 3-0. So far it's been awesome! Things are really on to a great start.

The last couple months I've been really down. I've had a variety of drama's/crisis pop up the last 6 months and it's all been a lot to deal with: family health stuff, job/financial stuff etc. Kinda sucked... that explains why Ive been a bit MIA till recently.

Anyways - over the course of the last week things have all worked out: sister's health stuff came back "all good", random legal stuff just poof and went away and I got a new job :) This all adds up to my 30's starting off on the right track. woot!

And today my dad calls me from across the yard and says "hey, FedEx is here with a package". I had no idea what it could be... none. So i ask where and he points at a box in the dining room with a familiar shape.... and it's from SLO

(i started opening the box way to quickly for my girlfriend to snap a closed box shot)

My jaw dropped!!!

I pop the case out of the box and stare at it for a little bit.

I was pretty giddy :)

So pop the case open and what do we have....

it's something we've all seen and drewled over in a torture thread by Dargin a couple months back

holy sh** its a BFR Sterling. I couldn't believe it! It's gorgeous. The top is pretty much a museum piece on this one. 100% perfect and awesome. fresh strings, plays great out of the box... and that green kills!!! everyone went nuts over the color

Now its time to give it a whirl

OK here's a really horrid picture of my Sterling family:

After giving it a quick whirl and taking some pics I gave Sterling a call to thank him. We had a great chat for a lil while and I thanked him about 87 times :)

Also gave Aziah a call b/c my girlfriend told me her and AJ were also in on it...as wel as Dargin.

So anyways. I'm really stoked and wanted to thank all the folks at EBMM (especially Pops) & my girlfriend for putting together this rediculously awesome surprise for my 30th.

THANKS 12 million :)

Happy Birthday.

I'm sorry you've had a tough time recently but glad things are turning a corner.

That bass looks fantastic, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Such a kind and thoughtful thing that Sterling and the EBMM family did for you. I have been the recipient of their generosity on a number of occasions and it is humbling that they care so much about all the guys and girls on the forum.

That's just superb.

Happy birthday, you aging punker.

And kudos to Biff, Dargin, Brian, Dudley, Aziah, AJ and everyone involved in making Arin's birthday so cool.

You guys rock!

HOLY DAMNATION ARIN!

Well, first off happy birthday of course, and then who better to own the coolest Sterling ever?

Hats off to all involved!

Now I'm just wondering, since you guys often play less than sober, and you usually say you accept your tools being a little banged up, what's this going to be for? Studio only?

This BFR is unreal. Im killing time before my birthday BBQ with my friend Adam (a Sterling player as well) and we're both playing the BFR and comparing in to the standard H.

So adam went to the garage (about 50 ft away) to grab beers and came back raving about how clearly he could hear the BFR from all the way in the garage.

More pronounced mids with more low and an extra little snap. thats the current description we've come up with after a few mintues of tooling around. I see no reason to not buy a BFR Sterling. Its a Sterling but everything i like about it is more pronounced.

The killer is the harmonics. I randomly hit a few harmonics around the 3rd due to sloppy play but that "acceindent" caused me to explore the harmonics on this thing... and theyre UNREAL.

this is one serious bass folks! call Pete now and get one ;)
