Europa - SoundClick artist: Demioblue - page with MP3 music downloads

C'mon... I'll leave the guessing for a couple of rounds before I fess up. I was incredibly happy with the recorded tones of this one. The SAME patches on my PODXTLive were used for my Little Wing recording. Here it is if you want to compare... :D

SoundClick artist: Demioblue - page with MP3 music downloads

But honestly, I think this (Europa) was a harder track to do... Having to play over the SAME progression and feel over 3 mins without repeating yourself was really tough... Doing this track has given me a lot more respect for Carlos Santana... It's harder than it sounds to jam like he does...:D

Please feel free to critique my playing... Could do with some tips...:D

Here's a reminder for you guys on what I have to make the guessing easier...

I really like the sound! Sweet clip. I was gonna say JP, but then I thought maybe it's the Silo...

I'm going to go with the stock one (the flame top w/maple fb).

Edit: I clicked on the wrong clip. Sounds like a guitar with single-coil pups, but then at the end it sounds like a humbucker in the neck position. Did you put coil-tapping in any of your guitars? If not then I'd say your new 08 LE Silo Special.

Sounds like some single coil combinations in there or at least some split buckers. Either way great playing!

It wouldn't surprise me at all if there's a bit of each guitar in there.

Doesn't really seem consistent enough for one axe ?

But if I have to choose one only I'd say LE08 Silo Special.

Can't be the AL, there's trem use in there.

Ok, 08LE Silo spec then - but there's that one chimey bit that gets me thinking SSS Silo Spec.

The rest of the gainy stuff could be anything ;)

Ok... time to 'fess up...

Heheheh... It's fun seeing everyone GUESS what guitar was used, and having only ONE person come close to it... I knew this would have been tough, and personally, had I heard this myself, I would NEVER have guessed this...

Are you ready for it?

:p

This was recently retrofitted with these: Stratocaster Pickups - Tonerider
I got the City Limits set put in. I heard them last week in an ash bodied, maple necked guitar, and they blew my mind. I feverishly kept thinking if I could get the same results in any of my balls, then it hit me... My AL!!!! It's the same wood combo!

Rob, I hate to say it, but I know how much you like stock pup tones. The SDs were better for me than the stock Silo Spec pups, but they were still a tad thin for my liking. If you hear the clean sections on the Europa track, this set does have that quack, shimmer, and chimey tone, yet isn't thin and backless. This set has plenty of thump! I've heard the same set in an Alder bodied strat, and that didn't sound good. Which is why I never bothered with them before. But the Ash body was a deal-maker here... That combo is awesome! The tones started coming out big and strong! The projection is killer, and the tones are almost 3D!!!! I'm surprised how GOOD this combo now sounds... It's almost Texan!!!!:p

So there... I've finally managed to unlock the power of my AL now... It's killer, and the only thing closest a JP can get to this would be a BFR... It's now my no.2 fav Ball after my Silo Spec...:p

For some reason, the site says the bridge pup is only 8.7k DC resistance. But on my bridge pup, it actually says 9.5k!!!! It's killer hot, and midrangey, but that's where the Ash comes through accentuating the highs!

P.S. Can someone now tell me how to keep that maple neck clean?!?!?!?!?

I cancelled all the hardtails thinking you were on the trem ~2.45.

I was just wondering where you came up with the trem... Hahahahaha... But I couldn't say anything, or else I would have given the game away...:D That wasn't a trem... Just my hand running up the neck.:p

Yeah, should have listened to it again - you can clearly hear the frets.

D'oh :p
