Here's my suggestion:

JUST PICK ONE.

I jest. Go for the mystic dream one. It's fancy because you get a green and purple color depending on how you look at it. Red is red no matter. That's poopy.

I believe myself to be the first to place an order for one. KOA JP6 coming my way. Order got placed today so I was told. Now I just have to wait. I'm used to the waiting game though, so this will give me a chance to hook and sell meth to afford said guitar. Huzzah!

Good Choice on the Koa! I think you'll love it. I've got mine on order and can't wait to get it. I think the Koa with the gold hardware is stunning, definitely one of the nicest JP's I've seen yet.

Hello everyone! Just heard the news a couple of days ago. I...I still can't believe this is happening. I'm still in awe and cannot wait to get mine. Forgive me for the noobishness for I just want to join the family! I never kept up with the possibility of a lefty JP because I remember it being repeatedly drilled into my head that it was never gonna happen.

Heh...I always referred to it as 'The Curse' (being left-handed). The production of southie JPs should mend this ailment, however. Just kidding, I wouldn't trade being a lefty for anything in the world...but this news is certainly the best I've heard in a long time.

Trying to catch up on all the reading but I just wanted to officially get in here. I come here from the ESP and Jackson families.

Welcome, young squire. We are a welcoming family here and like that we're getting so many lefties coming to town from other places. Years ago, I was a Fender and PRS man, but that was in a past life now. I'm all Music Man and haven't looked back. You'll get along great here.

I signed up for the forums three years ago after playing a JP6 upside down and realizing that were I to have a humbucking guitar in my collection, this would be it. I emailed Dan McPherson about it, and he told me no way. I came here to see if there were others of my blood and there were. Admittedly, I am not a humbucker man. I don't know why the JP just felt and sounded good to me. I never got along with any of my humbucking guitars before.

Then when the KOA came along I was officially in love. It is by far the nicest humbucking guitar I've ever seen in my life. The top is fantastic, the gold on koa look is as you say, "Stunning". It's just so... awesome.

I can't wait too. When you get yours, I want to see pictures.

Thank you so much JJ! From the brief reading I've done looks like you and leftguitarblue really stayed persistant throughout the past couple of years to see this come to fruition!

Aww man, I don't think I've ever been so persistent about anything in my life. I've gone through petty phases of wanting this and thinking that was cool, but nothing ever rang so loud and clear as fighting the fight for this guitar.

Scott (leftyguitarblue) signed up a while after I did wanting the exact same thing. I handled all of the negative responses stating "It's not going to happen" and such. Then after a few heated responses defending some pretty nice folks, it just happened. I'm sure there was planning of it beforehand, but it was made official back in April. Then the big day came a couple days ago as you have probably read.

We even have our own LHJPC (Left Handed John Petrucci Club) over in the social groups. I started that little group so that we could all have yet another place to share our excitement over the best left handed guitar ever.

So, what kind are YOU getting?

Bahama Blue? Really? That's a new one. Not one lefty has made mention of wanting one of them so way to go. It's good that we're branching out and not all getting the same one. It will make for more pictures. Here's a quick rundown of who you should know... and I'm not trying to piss people off... this is just who I know.

BP (Big Poppa) - Sterling Ball. Owner of company.
Dargin - Scott Ball. Son of owner.
Beth Johnson - Customer Service with company/general ass-kicker.
A.J., Drewbixcubed, Jodizzle - all employed by company (never spoke with them)

Some other forum people you will read a lot about:

LeftyGuitarBlue - Scott. My brother in arms. I think Dire Straits made an album for us.
Robelinda - Rob from down unda. Loves ALs and all things single coil.
PeteDuBaldo - Pete from CT. The most badass MM dealer in all the land.
NickDuBaldo - Nick from CT. Brother to most badass dealer, also lefty not by choice.

To meet all our other left handed brethren, go check out the social group. You should have an invite after I finish typing this. Also, there's tons of great people on this site. It's just really early and a stupid dream woke me up. I'm now sitting online doing this instead of sleeping. Excuse the ignorance.

Oh yeah! I'm Tim by the way. The "jimmy-jengas" thing started as a screen name my friend Matt picked out for me back when I signed up. I was talking about kicking a guy in the "jimmy-jengas" and it just stuck. You;ll see my pop up in the Dr. Z forums every now and again as well.

Hopefully this answers some questions.

Nice to meet you Tim! I'm Danny and waaay south of you (Alabama). I'm sorry I don't know the proper abbreviations...I meant blackburst when I said BB. I forgot there was a Bahama Blue. Thanks for helping me out.

Sweet dude. I don't think there's an abbreviation for the Blackburst one. I think that would just be blackburst. Bahama Blue gets BB and um... I think that's it. I'm going for the KOA one, because it is just the most beautiful thing ever.

Just know that when you do order your BFR (Ball Family Reserve) guitar, that you can stipulate between flamed top and quilt top. I love love love the flame top, but it's a personal preference. I think a tight flame on the top of a guitar is so hot.

Stick around. We generally have good topics going on around here and it's worth popping in for a look every... day.

Actually, I've been led to believe that I can't choose the flame or quilt on the KOA BFR because it is just what it is. I told Beth on the phone the other day that it the choice is there that I want the tightest flame ever. If I can't choose then I'll just take whatever comes my way, because it's going to be stunning no matter what.

There's a thread on here with a picture...

BFR

I don't know how to post images and too many people have told me. Anyways, if that doesn't make your mouth water I don't know what would.

Oh man, coolest typo ever. I wish my name was Time.

"What time is it?"
"That guy."

"Time is dragging today."
"He's hung over."

"Time is of the essence."
"His essence stinks. He needs to shower."

"Ti-i-i-me is on your side. Yes it is."
"He's on everyone's side... if they pay well enough."

Oh man, that'd be so badass. Anyways, I ordered mine through my work. I work at a guitar store up in Canada here. If I lived in the US, I would absolutely go through Pete. That guy is what we affectionately call "the tits".
