This is the back of one of Dudley Gimpel's business cards. He wrote this and handed it to the guys on stage to read aloud during the bass forum at the 07 Knucklehead bash. I retrieved the card and kept it as a souvenir.

Kinda says it all....

:D just my .02

I know you are proud of your instrument and that's cool.

What is it Sterling says about bass and guitar players who are anxious about moving past anything invented after 1953?

Weird...i thought what that GIGANTIC HUMBUCKING PICKUP did. im all for space age technology..just not looking like i came from space. with beveled body edges, a giant humbucker or 2 , 5 strings , and an active system, a raw wood neck and a NON nitro finish, id say if i took my ray back to 1953 i'd scare the hell out of all of em. and thats good enough for me :D

Keep it light, lads, it's all in fun.

Plus - let's face it - I'm Lord Bongo and have superhuman powers. I'm not sure the two are related, however, because my superhuman powers are:

1. I can understand the language of ground squirrels.
2. I can see through typing paper, particularly when held aloft with sun behind it.

C'mon guys, can't we have just a bit of fun and see who comes up with the wittiest remarks without insulting each other and some follow up extensive discussions to clean up the mess?!

I think uncle 'Ray rather has a Bongo as protégé than any other bass...

i guess peppering my comments with smiley faces is not enough to ensure everyone that my comments are lighthearted. oh well either way we all have our own opinions and people ready to innovate should be just as prepared for the naysayers. with that being said. variety is the spice of life..and to each their own.. no hard feelings Bongoloids

That's correct.

Anyway, whatever. It's not a big deal. 16,000 children die of starvation every day. Yeah, my comments were lighthearted too, I just forgot to use the little smiley thing. Group hug.

Oh, and my Bongo and Stingray get along famously together. What one has in muscle, the other makes up for with attitude.
