What Jack said
What Eggman said that Jack said.

That being said.

Question - will the balance be noticeably different? Eg, heavier (?) neck?
I love the way the Bongo is balanced with the painted maple neck.

And no sir, I do not have any pending orders - though I do have a need for a fiver HH, and this would fill it nicely.

Ok, BP...

If it's rosewood, will the bass smell like roses? Will I get rosy cheeks when I play the bass? If I buy one will I be on the "rose" to success? (sorry...)

Questions questions!!

Seriously, would love to have unlimited funds and buy one of those bad boys...stunning!

(No offense, Old Guy...Just being silly!) :)

I got dreams of tobacco burst Sterling HH 4-string BFR rosewood... I've already dubbed it "Charlie Brown" and have a fund in it's name that I'll be working overtime hours at work to fill up. I even have the green light from the girlfriend.

I've really been digging position 2 on my Sterling 5 HH, it's such a great sound, I'm excited to hear it on the full rosewood neck.

You're killing me (in a good way). Here I've been patiently waiting for a BFR Bongo, thinking and hoping that a rosewood neck would be part of the package, and now you go and offer it as an option on regular production models? You're making it a lot harder to wait on the BFR. I still fondly remember this bass -- too bad buttercream is no longer available....

Is EBMM the first company to make a whole rosewod neck? I must admit the more I look at it and the more I think that visually a nice rosewood neck is quite a stunning thing. However at the same time, I wonder why we don't see many other manufacturers adopting rosewood for the whole neck and not just the fingerboard. Is their tensile strenght up to the task in the long run, I mean after years of string tension, do they stay straight like mahogany and maple necks?

Higher cost, I know you can get rosewood necks from Warmoth not sure if weight is maybe a factor as well..

For guitars PRS has had a rosewood neck for years, also Tom Anderson, for bass as far as I know just some high end boutique builders, as for tensile strength I have a four year old PRS McCarty that I've only changed strings on, it's never needed a set up. So I know
that somehow I have to get a rosewood neck EB/MM. As mentioned by BP it's definitely costly, but imho worth every penny.

Rosewood neck with a maple board? :D

 Thanks alot dude, like I really need to think of other cool combinations that I can not have! I love Maple fret boards. The only EB I have is the rosewood Axis and that thing feels awsome. I am desperatly trying to figure a way to oder a Luke or SS with this new Rosewood option and now you have me thinking of maple on rosewood. The member of this forum are sick! :D

Today's the first day of ordering the rosewood from EBMM and I'm going to get the ball rolling by announcing my order from The Perfect Bass just down the road from me on Interstate 10. I ordered a Bongo 5HS in cabernet/black guard/rosewood neck and I must say the price was very nice. I almost went for the true gold but passed on it as I'm not into flashy type colors, that's why my first Bongo was a stealth. I have a feeling this won't be my last Bongo either.

Again - is there any response to my question about how the rosewood neck would affect the overall tone compared to the painted maple neck? Will the rosewood neck be more resonant or warmer or brighter or what?

Thanks and again sorry if this has been answered - I just can't find where if it has.
