left-handed Musicman Sabre??

Hi, I've just joined this site cos I have a left-handed Musicman Sabre, which I bought in Music Maker in Dublin in 1993. Series number is
C004463. I'm looking for any information about it age, history and value.
Thanks.

Thanks 5Stringer! Both basses now reside in Ireland, seems they're well travelled! I thought the 4 string had a more "blonde" appearance to it than it's 5 string brother, the velvet ash would explain that I presume? Also any dates of birth/shipment for them?

Kierenbass, sorry, my bad!

E44276 - Dec 22 2004
44591 - Feb 22 1995

Yes, it is probable that the satin finish mght be more prone to "blonding", but even more likely the cause is the almost 10-year difference in age of the two. 9 years 10 months to be exact ... ;)

G'day Dan,

Could you please give me the run down on: X03624

Any indication whether it's a passive or active pre-amp

Much appreciated. Thanks again :)

Dr Gonzo, is there no battery box on it? According to our records, it is active and thus should have one .... it should also be Textured Teal and have a build date of 9/04/03.

Woof

Smuggler, congratulations on your new bass!! It looks like your bass was completed on 5/29/07. It may have been at th Distribution Center for a while prior to shipping it out to the store.

Hey,

Thanks a lot for your quick answer back!

I'm currently trying to setup neck relief and strings height as per MM standard... Strings were quite high!!

THanks!
Vincent

Welcome to the Forum Heff!

Lefty Sabres are relatively rare

Unfortunately, official records don't exist for Pre-EB instruments. However, comparing your serial number with other serials, your Sabre is most likely to be 1980. Dates are recoreded on the neck heel and in the neck pocket but the neck has to be removed to view them.

As to value, I suggest you follow the on-line Ebay auctions.

Greetings,

Any info on F03397? It's a candy apple red Sterling with a piezo.

Thanks,
Jess

P.S. Ernie Ball is a model company. Great customer service to be doing this!

Just got another Black Beauty SR5 serial number 50867 and was wondering when it left the factory and what the body wood is? Has a nice birds eye maple neck with rosewood board. Thanks!
