After taking a few years off from playing I recently decided to get back into the mix once again. I had owned several Ernie Balls over the years so I knew that once I got back in I would be coming back to the brand I love. About a month ago I found a new ASS with a vintage trem online and with the help of a fellow forum member I pulled the trigger. While I love that guitar I started to lust after the BFRs that have been posted here in the forum. Being a fan of the ASS I started looking around and found one I liked online. I decided to pull the trigger as present to myself for my 36 birthday. After waiting almost a week the new BFR ASS was delivered this afternoon. The guitar has exceeded all my expectations. I now want to get another  I wonder what the wife will say about that.

Kudos to Ernie Ball/Music Man group for making a fantastic guitar and for making my return to playing that much more joyful.

Dude, great looking guitar, but remember green guitars don't sell, as someone around here said once. :D

Congrats.

Thanks for all the comments. I've always been a big fun of green guitars and glad I pulled the trigger. I wouldn't mind getting another one, seeing that the don't sell all that well :D

Love those tight flame tops. How is the tone on the BFR compared to the standard?

I did a very quick A/B between the two and the BFR is warmer than the standard. I'm hoping to test further today if time allows. It also is more aggressive sounding but I believe part of that comes from the fact that the bridge pickup sits a bit higher and therefore closer to the strings. I think I may find some spacers to raise the standard bridge a little higher to see if it makes a difference.

Thats a beauty! Is that the one on eBay that I have been lusting after?

It could be. I originally saw the guitar in the official BFR thread and tracked it down. I'm glad I did!
