Hey folks,
Petal High School Indoor Percussion is headed to Dayton, OH tomorrow for WGI World Championships.

My director has told me that our warmup could be featured on vic firth's site, and our performance will be streamed to a few sites, if you're interested in that sort of thing. Pretty big deal to us, but to each his own.

unfortunately for EBMM's exposure, the HUUUUGE(sarcasm) crowd at WGI is gonna see me play my *ender. Director's preference, and he's the boss. :(
Though the ray will be a backup.

If you can spare a moment, say a prayer for our travel and wish us luck for the performance.

Thanks.

No worries about the fun part. :)

I'd considered sabotaging my bass... but they have folks that will fix them IN the parking lot. Plus I don't wanna jeopardize the performance.

Have you considered, um, "inconveniencing" the director?

I might know some people who know some people who can make some things happen, yaknowwhatimsayin?

:D

I've practiced with the crap..I mean, the fender for the past couple weeks. So... probably need to use that one.

He's got that whole "fender is awesome for everything" idea.

who knows? the bass isn't too reliable.....

Good luck! If it was me the EBMM might find its way into the Fender case "accidentally" and it would then be an act of god, meaning I was destined to play it. Assuming of course it would fit:rolleyes:

Is indoor percussion easier than outdoor, because weather conditions don't play a factor? :D

In a word, no. The simplest reason is because the acoustics of every gym are different, and the entire group has to adapt on the fly. But there's literally a laundry list. More judges, less performers, higher intensity performances... it's the highest level of marching music, in my opinion.

Which is one of the biggest reasons I want to use my Ray. Volume controls that work, decent sound selection, and..... EQ. Woah! More adaptable.
But my director is a drummer, not a guitarist or a bassist.
So fender it is, unless it *breaks*

You can check out some of the crazy drill stuff we'll be pulling off on wgi.org friday somewhere around 11 or 12 am eastern. The scheduled time is 11:45, but sometimes there is a delay. And again saturday sometime, on the slightly off chance that we make finals.

Thanks very much for all the good wishes, guys, and keep them coming! :D

Go get 'em, homey, even if you have to use that....thing.

Keep the boss happy, I say.

But plot. Plot like an assassin. For later.

Ahem.

Talked to director. He's gonna let me use da 'ray. In front of reportedly 7000+ people.

Big crowd.

Thanks a lot for the support.
