Without warning, a largish package was delivered to my doorstep on Wednesday afternoon. I've been waiting for six month, and some of you may have found hints of things to come in some of my posts during that time.

Due to work load, I didn't have time to right away post the pics I took while unpacking it. So I did another photo session today. Expect more (and better) pics to come here and in other places. These babies are amazing. Here you go:

All I can say is:

Best. StingRays. Ever. Period.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

A Big Thank You goes out to:

Peter Salb (Musik Meyer AG) & Beth Johnson, who helped to make it happen, and naturally to Sterling and the whole team at Ernie Ball Music Man! I love you guys!

PS: Oh, yeah, and I did take of the protective plastic from the pickguards... after the photoshoot...

Gorgeous double there Oli!

How'd you swing this German-only LE to Switzerland? I can order a beer and buy a chairlift ticket in German, if that helps me get into the club.

Hey, thanks guys for the compliments!
Fact is, their looks is an understatement; their sound is HUGE!

i LOVE that fretless! Well done on those two, that is awesome. Just...wow.

Yep. The fretless is incredible. The neck H on the fretless just kills any precision type fretless you can imagine... (well, at least that's my story, and I'm sticking to it ;))

The funny thing is that I was more keen to get the fretless, but I'm totally surprised by the sound of the fretted being that much bigger than my other 'Rays.

Better than the 30th?

IMO, yes. Regarding woods and construction, we're talking about a 30th with ebony fretboard. And no poly coating for the neck, which is the main reason why I rarely ever play my 30th.

Thanks! The HH is just "my thing". And although the fretless also could have been an HS without sounding brittle (which was my main concern), I totally love the HH combo. All positions are winners.

BTW, the fretted has a rather visible flaming over the whole lenght of the neck. It's to die for :D

Oli they are GORGEOUS!!!! loooove the fretless!!!!

You know you can come by and play them while you're in Switzerland. (BTW, I was driving through Montreux last Sunday, but didn't have time to stop by...)

Which one did you play first?

um.... I think it was the fretless. It is my dream bass!

Gorgeous double there Oli!

Are you able to order a flight to Germany? That would certainly be of help... ;)

Oli, those are awesome! Congrats! No wonder your money has been tied up as you mentioned in a previous thread.

Great score, hope they sound as good as they look! :D
