So its down to three An Axis super sport, a Luke, and a Silhouette. I played all 3 and love how they play and sound the same. The necks all feel great so its really hard for me to make up my mind . What would you guys get? I play mostly hard rock and metal with a Splawn Competition as my main amp.

The biggest difference among the three is the neck pickup. If the necks don't make a difference for you, then go by the neck pickup that you like best or that best suits the style of music you play most.

If you go Luke or silo you cover more ground tonewise with the pickup configuration. Personally, I'd be going for the 25th myself.

I do prefer the dimarzios to the emgs though. Then again I have a silo and silo spec so I'm obviously biased...

I'm with Zombi, wait and play a 25th then make the decision... from what people are saying about them, it may be the only guitar you will need or mostly use.

Besides the JP, what do you already have?

That would make a big impact to me. The Silo (or silo spec) would give you the greatest range of sounds. Although much thicker, the neck is closest to the JP (although not close) of the Musicman line.

The Luke neck is very different.....although the EMGs might suit the style you play.

An ASS can give you some of the sounds and you could replace a pot with a push-pull to get coil splitting. The neck is all by itself, if you know what I mean.

I know I say this all the time....but find a place with as many EBMMs as possible and spend a couple hours there.

from experience, I would get the luke. I play in a hard rock/metal cover band and the Luke worked perfectly.
I did sell the luke to get my JP, but I would buy another Luke in the future.

I have a Jacksom DKMGT with EMG 81/85
Hagstrom Ultra Swede with SD's
Squier Tele

Oh the 25th is out of my price range

Silhouette is jumping out to me. It'll give you more of what you don't yet have and still give you the options you can use. It'll also be the nicest on your budget.

I favor the Luke slightly for comfort, glassy clean, and super low noise. Either one will get it done on the bridge pick up, just different. I would describe the ASS as a rock machine however though at lower gain settings I think the ASS really shines too, I would say it is more toneful.

I would go with the Silo personally. I like to go over a wide spectrum when changing guitars. The JP is so versatile it'll cover any crunchy gain to high gain well. A Silo Spec or Luke with the single coils at the top will add something new to the arsenal.
