I´m at work and opened the threat.

Damn! Fortunately nobody did see it.

I want to open EBMM forums without such bad surprises!

Well Knuckleheads, sadly there are automated 'bot' programs out there which can post this kind of garbage to forums. They get more sophisticated and harder to shut out with each passing year. The best you can do is cleanup after they've left their mark, and ban the user profile. But there's nothing that can stop the malicious program from creating other user profiles in the future and doing the same thing. It's like the anti-virus game.. you just wait and see what they cook up next, then find a way to squash it.

Guys- if you see something really offensive, as Dizz mentioned the OP can delete the thread. Mods can resuscitate deleted threads so we can just bring them back once they've been cleaned up.

What is the OP ?
What is the effect of the "Report" button ?

Can Chewie or someone set up registration to require a real person and not a bot? Something like how TicketMaster requires you to type in the words that appear in a picture? That might slow things down...

OP = Original Poster. Person that started the thread.

There's a whole interface for looking at reported posts that need to be moderated. But the easiest way is probably to get the attention of a moderator.

Btw we do indeed have a mod from down under ... Rod Trussbroken.

Pete, even with 'capcha' codes.. where you type in the letters/numbers that show up in a box.. the bots get more sophisticated. Many can perform OCR (optical character recognition) on the image and thus convert it into text, which thwarts the process.

Granted, these processes *do* lock out a lot of the less sophisticated 'bots, so they're definitely worth turning on if you've got 'em.

OK #1 Lionel...dont piss me off you post a MODS! and its 5:21 am out time.....dont armchair mod please.

I am the one who deleted it the first time..Sunday night late....Ill try topp stay on more....hehehehe

This sucks but I actually think that this guy is breaking the law and will file a complaint...its one think to invade a forum but these pics are pornographic.

Everybody please keep this in perspective...this is one bot twice posting offensive material....

Please use the report button...Dizz I got your request but Rod is already down there use the email option in the profile menu

Also if it happens in a thread you started delete the thread as Beej says

Ok guys ... to re-iterate: if you see something that needs to be modded quickly, PM one of the mods (not BP obviously). Buzz me any time via email or PM and I'll get to it.

Otherwise stuff'll get cleaned up periodically as it normally does by one of us. Stay cool, don't sweat the small stuff and have fun .

it was innappropriate but nothing to justify the righteous indignation...

The uproar is puzzling...it was some naked people that I dont want here...I deleted it one time...it was reposted while we slept on a sunday night....it was fixed by beej in the morning.

For those out there please cut us some slack...as the flaming Wazoo criticized our registration process and was wrong....these bots are the new email spam and its a race between the good and evil.....I could go to a feature where you have to enter random codes everytime you want to post...but they have optical recognition software to defeat that....Its like locks...a real criminal can get into anythin they want...WE have locks and sometimes a pro picks it

Not all of them were naked - some were wearing gimp suits ! :D

Didn't mean to stir things up BP, just lookin' out for the kids and trying to help out :)

Glad it's sorted.

Now.... back to being a loose canon - all this moral high-ground stuff is hard work ! :D

That pic had no place in this environment...however it was nice to see the Gimp working again. I don't think he's done much since Pulp Fiction. :D
