The EBMM facebook group just posted that you guys are discontinuing allot of colors including some of the new ones you just came out with. Theres another post saying you are also discontinuing some main BFR colors.

Probably not until the next NAMM, if any new ones are coming this time.
(They only said they were discontinuing some colors, not 'replacing' them! ;))

I understand the business reasons to discontinue the under performing colors, but I have to say that I have people gawking at the beauty of my Electric Blue Stingray 5 everywhere I play. It gets lots of complioments on looks and tone. It really is a great finish and its nice to know that my Stingray is one of a few instead of one of many.

You know, we complained when they discontinued the last batch... they replaced them with some pretty color colors. We complain with this batch... I am pretty sure they will have some more cool stuff coming in. BP and crew tend to know what they are doing so I am sure it will all work out. :D

How is it that Musicman is equating low sales with the current color offerings? Is that the "vanilla" colors like black and sunburst outsell the others?

Most popular color scheme? Black with maple board.

*yawn*

It bores me to tears, too, but we ain't exactly the Big Market.

I posted this already... I guess in the guitar section unknowingly. Hope I'm not in trouble posting it again here; still learning this forumite stuff.

In every forum, there's always a post that turns a lurker into a member... this is mine; glad to be here.

The other day, I went to music-man.com to check the color/pickguard combos and found six instead of fifteen. First, I thought my computer was broken. Then I thought I was on the Fender site! Now I know the truth. Don't worry ya'll, the truth will set BP free to give us new choices to GAS over in the near future. Meanwhile, everybody has extra incentive to get that OG or other freak color you always wanted.

I just picked up the bass this year. I was all set on Fender except all their basses were BORING. After three hours looking for my first bass, BB at TPB hooked me on EBMM and I'm glad he did. Innovative; not outdated. Iconic, but not old. Now I want a room full because they are so cool!

That's it BP... please continue to offer technology, design and style that is INNOVATIVE and COOL, not me-too. Anybody can do what Fender does to make a buck; nobody does what you've been doing right all these years. You have a new customer/player for life if you do. I'm OG and I'm out ya'll!

We knew Olive Gold was limited though... but I feel you. My favorites have long been discontinued. I still dream at night about owning a burnt apple silo. Of course Autumn Redburst is my favies, but I feel I need the BA.

Just think that if you bought a shortlived finish you pretty much picked up a limited edition for a lot less money. I have complete faith in the new finishes coming out next year, they will kick ass and we will be 'ooh-ing' and 'ahhh-ing' just like we always do with new colours...it'll be fine. It'll be very enjoyable actually.

Maybe more people buy black, because black is just the best looking guitar. Classic, clean look, goes with any style, slimming to chubby fingers everywhere.

The fun thing is to see misconceptions exposed...black is by far not the cheapest...why would you say that? THink about it black shows EVERYTHING...if anything black is more expensive as it requires perfect sanding and buffing.

I bought a True Gold StingRay 5 just about six months ago and see that it's on the execution list also. Hey, that's alright with me. That means that I will be one of the lucky one's to own this great color. If tomorrow I were to decide to by another Ray, I'm sure that I would find one that would tickle my fancy. Like I've said before "every EBMM is beautiful".

Really? My mistake. I guess I picked it up at musicians friend where the cheapest Stingray has for a while now been a black 4 string with rosewood or maple f-board. $1400.
Though I notice at Basscentral the prices are more...colorblind.
good to know.
