Nice. i love mine.
Just played couple EBMM at a local store. The JP50 is pretty damn close to the JP6, upgrade the pickups and replace the switch and jack, you're pretty much there :D

i love it , I've had it for about four weeks now and just decided to take some pictures of it in natural light to really show the beautiful finish

it looks nice but why do the sterling JPs (also OLP had it) these ugly big Les-Paul-style 3-way-toggles. The mini switch the EBMM JP has is a lot nicer.
Is this e price issue?

it's what is commonly available without having to tool up for a new part. Everytime we have to make a new part, we have to pay a lot of money to get it designed, get samples, then place the order. It all adds up. Much more cost effective to use this style of switch. The whole point of this line was to meet a certain price point and still retain most of the vibe and feel of the USA versions. We can't expect every detail to match the USA guitars.

Thanks for your info!
I mean it´s ok as it´s mainly a cosmetic thing... Priority of course is to produce good quality for a good price. I´m not looking for a Sterling right now, but if I would buy one I could change the switch. So this is not really a big thing. Just wondered...

last night i saw a Youtube video of a guy who just bought a JP50 and the first thing he did was change the switch. For me the stock switch works fine, but I am the tinkerer and always changing out pickups, pots etc so eventually I may look at a heavier duty switch.

Here is a youtube video I uploaded last night. It's me in my living room goofing around. Its not the best quality. Some friends asked me to do a video showing the new guitar. Line 6 Flextone and Tonefreak Abunai2 overdrive. Some bluesy shred!

The switch may not be in the way anymore, but your left with that ugly hole.

well i'm not to worried about how my personal guitars look, as long as they play and sound good. moving the switch was about not hitting it when I strum.

If you like I can re-locate the switch on your AX40 to the same place the JP50 switch was. I'll even plug up the original hole. ;)
