Hi there,

earlier this month I browsed through the for-dale-sticky and found this very nice AL...what can I say...couldn't resist!
Once I saw it I knew I was gonna love it...and right I was. This AL absolutely rocks (thanks Jim, awesome, awesome, awesome!).

Should keep me entertained till NAMM and the BP Al...:)

I'm most likely gonna swap the pg even though it's pretty awesome as it is. I just feel I need a little personal touch to it...if anyone has an idea what'd look neat feel free to post!

Here's a couple of not-so-great indoor shots, none of them does the trans gold any justice I'm afraid...

I like that finish a lot! I can definitely see a vintage white pearloid guard on that one. Congrats on the AL.

Jim,
I'm sure I will! Trans gold is such a nice color on the AL, tough to photograph though...looks much nicer in the flesh!

Thanks guys for all the comments so far...as for the pickguard choice I'm hoping for a little input...looked at Fing's trans orange AL with the orange swirl pg...EBMM might still have a few of these in stock...I think I'll have to give some thought to this delicate matter.

Patrick,

Nice AL, glad Jim keep it in the family, congrats, nice growing family you have, now bout that guard, nah on the orange swril, it looks good on orange but not much else, maybe a gold swril or has been suggested the vintage white pearliod, seen that on a glod silo at gc and trans gold al at another store looks super classy:)

Keith,
I guess you're right about the orange swirl, I guess I'll go with vintage white and also change the pu covers and knobs then.

c-mug. without changing the p-u covers and knobs... I feel a solid black would look fantastic. the body and neck wood are beautiful focal points. the black will set them apart. Be careful with anything wild. for mr. spudmurphy will have a field day with you.

dont ask me about my leopard guard, please.

Yea orange is not the way to go, the vintage white is nice, just sit back and think about it before deciding, plus i think the black pup covers and v white might look nice together or like travs suggested black all the way or black pearliod, thats the fun part of a pick guarded guitar, new PG, maybe new pup covers, maybe new knobs or all guitar will always sound killer just gets a different visual appeal BTW forgot nice neck on that one.

OK, first tremendous success with the trans gold AL last night: We had our neighbors come over for dinner. Their 5 year old, upon being asked by his dad how he liked the guitar, said it looked just like the toilet seat they have at home...which one? The ugly one!
Honestly, he's a great kid...and very interested in drumming (or making helluva noise that is), much to his parents' dismay!

LMAO :D

The nice thing about the AL is ever people love them or hate them. Same thing goes for the bongo

But swap that tortoise for a "black ice" or something approaching and you will see all the beauty of the trans gold
