So maybe except for the Blue Dawn, which is kind of a duplicate of the Black Sapphire, they're all keepers for some very sentimental reasons.

Were you saying that you want me to adopt Blue Dawn, or were you saying that while it is a keeper, it is not so for the sentimental reasons that the others are? I know you're confused, but I'm here to help if you need me.:p

I have a Big Al question if someone who knows sees this (no need for separate thread). It seems this would have been a good opportunity to make a unique headstock (like the Bongo). Was this considered and why wasn't it done? Thanks!

I'm guessing it's because the Big Al bass is based on the Albert Lee signature guitar which has has a normal looking headstock.

Very nice collection of Bongos Jack. The Dargie that was traded to help beef up your collection is doing fine over here and is currently my favorite, just slightly ahead of the BFR (have you looked in the for sale section-). I'm still tweaking my collection and have been busy fine tuning a couple of basses, there may be some changes coming.

Hey Mark,

Stealth hardware on a Beluga Bongo! Excellent! Trade you a Blue Dawn for it!

I'm glad you're liking that Dargie HS. I stay out of the FS thread except to weed out the old stuff. I get in there and start looking and then - well, it's just trouble.

Jack, wasn't there a one off blue and red Bongo of some sort that came from an EBMM bash too? Or did you sell that one? Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me.

Speaking of piezos, that's what's making this swap a pain. The white Bongo has piezo saddles so there's unsoldering and drilling and resoldering. The saddles will be retained and they look pretty good against the black tail plate (no pics of that yet).

This sounds totally unfamiliar. Are you maybe thinking of the Biff Baby Stingray?

We had that one out, playing with it at the SLO Open House, but that's always been in the vault. (Unless Sterling was gigging it.)

So...no piezos on the Stealth, but - what ARE you doing? One bass had piezos and one didn't, right?

I'm happy for you guys who dig the piezos. But I've had, I don't know, four or five basses, SR5s and Bongos and so on with piezos and they just don't float my boat enough to deal with the extra knobbage.

But the SmallEQ Bongo with piezos was glorious, that's for sure. But fretless? Not I, not I.
