I know I haven't been present here in the last few months but I just wanted to let everyone know what's going on.

I know some of you have heard my intentions of joining the military. Well those plans are being put on hold due to some new opportunities. At almost 22 years old, I'm finally leaving my home. I'm relocating to Jacksonville, Florida on Feb 4th to pursuit any new opportunity that comes my way while I'm there. I'm really nervous about it but also anxious to get down there. So does anyone have any advice on the first move out?

Too say all you guys haven't played a valuable part in where I am today in my life would be a lie. For that, I thank each and every one of you. This is a new time in my life and hopefully I'll be able to share it with you cats!

Our Stanky is growing up :) Set some goals and stick to them, set a major goal and use smaller goals to achieve the big one. Make some extra cash playing in a local band and don't party every night...

Stanky, have a lot of fun!!

The only two things I could tell you at this point, to be quite honest, is be sure you have the Lord in your life and only play EBMM basses.

Can't go wrong!:)

Stanky, all the best to you, and hit me up later on!

My advice, if you can - pack your necessities and sell or throw the extra stuff out (or box it up and store it). Once you get settled in, slowly buy things as you need them (or have mom and dad ship the other boxes down). You won't realize how much stuff you have accumulated until you being packing it all, and then you REALLY realize how much stuff you have once you start unpacking it!

If you're really moving out for the first time you will find yourself having a level of total freedom which you've never had before and probably less of a safety net. It's a life-changing moment. It's easy to just say "enjoy yourself," but that really doesn't help someone who really is looking for direction. You can sink or swim in these situations. Sinking usually involves alcohol/drugs/partying/hanging out with slackers/or just being lazy or without direction. Swimming usually involves setting realistic, achievable goals and breaking down the small steps needed to reach those goals and not letting the inevitable road blocks defeat you. Get out and meet people and then separate the good from the bad. Surround yourself with people who are successful or who are at least ambitious to be successful in whatever they're shooting for. Stay away from losers, people who will bring you down, drug users, drunks, big talkers (no action), and those who are just cruising through life without direction. You will be influenced by the company you keep. If you find a woman, make sure she is there to support you, not control you. Get educated, determine what things make you happy, and find ways to get there. Think about the long-term when acting in the short-term. Think for yourself. Play bass. Learn to sight-read standard notation.

you never stop learning.......keep your eyes open, and move forward.

don't worry about tomorrow, don't worry about yesterday........finish what today holds first.

Treat everyone BETTER than you would treat yourself. Never burn bridges, be humble, honest and above all be yourself. Acknowledge that there is a greater power than yourself and be thankful for all that you have taking NOTHING for granted especially your health and loved ones. Take comfort knowing that sometimes the best way to learn a lesson in life is by making mistakes. The easy way out is only that; an easy way out. Nothing worthwhile comes without hard work and discipline. Your body is the temple of your being; treat it with care. GOOD LUCK!
