I just received my new AL guitar and can't put it down. I have owned many guitars over the years and this is my first Music Man guitar. There is something very special about this AL guitar. Everything from the looks, sound and balance of the instrument is amazing. I will post pictures very soon. Now that I have been bitten by the Music Man bug, I am looking at selling some of my other instruments and upgrading to Music Man instruments. I really like the looks of the new AL HH and was wondering if anyone knows how much those guitars are selling for? Also, is it possible for Ernie Ball to offer this instrument with the Maple neck and Maple fretboard? I really like a maple fretboard and would like the same guitar, but with humbuckers. Thanks

welcome and congrats on the purchase :D

The AL is for sure an addictive guitar, which one did you get BTW ? SSS or MM90 ? Hardtail or trem ?

now for the mapple neck for HHAL you have to options :

either to wait and pray for EBMM to manufacture one but it's not sure this will happen, or maybe juste mapple doesnt work with the mahogany body

or

Purcchase a second and AL with mapple neck and swap it with a HHAL

or

Purchase a regalar AL and root it for HH

as you see you have many options :D

whatever you decide, you will never go wrong with the Albert, this guitar is as revolutionary as the strat was in the 50's

Thanks for the info. I think a possible option would be to buy a used AL and route it with HH. Although, I'm not very handy with a router and would hate to butcher a nice guitar. I dont think I can ever go back to a Strat after playing this guitar. I appreciate the advice. By the way, I got my AL with SSS hardtail.

Congrats, AL's are great and enjoying a renisance at the moment.

No pics=NO AL:D

Right now can only get the HH AL with the all rosewood neck, but it is killer, I love mine:)

Cant discuss pricing on the fourm though, but put is this way price is very reasonable, check out the current Guitar Center ad to get an idea on price.

Ive been a strat player for the last 20 years and i found myself with a 20th Anniversary Silhouette and within a week all of my strats (13) were on "the bay" or "the list" and sold. Just picked up my second silo last night and i couldn't be any more please with the balance, tone, feel of these instruments. I hate to say it but for me i'm set between the two guitars... (i know guys infamous last words- but i honestly think im set.... who am i kidding i'll buy more im sure)

If you don't feel like doing it your self, I'm sure you will have decent luthier around you that can do the job properly ;)

the AL SSS is a VERY good guitar, you should try out one of those Rw neck they are incredible.

it's so good to see so much AL love around the forum recently :p

No PICS, No Guitar... its the rule around here... haha... I will send my "official congrats" when I see the guitar... till then Congrats pending verification of, said AL. At that time the ALOC will make "official" contact as well...

A word about the 2HB AL... have you played it yet? I'm not much of a rosewood guy (Maple with RW Board... no thanks, its really a texture thing) HOWEVER, the all Rosewood neck is something else, maybe the nicest neck I have ever played and I have a 13 year old Axis that has been the standard (for me) since it was purchased back in early 1997. Even my other Axis guitars were judged by this one... The RW AL plays that nice! There is also something very magical about the combo of the RW/Mahogany on the HHAL that throwing a Maple neck on there may not work as well... But if you get a RW HHAL and a different AL and swap necks Ill be more then happy to buy the other AL when you are done...

now how about those PICS??? haha

VintageD, you could always, buy the AL HH, buy a used AL SSS or MM90 and swap out the neck. Sell the rosewood neck or something like that.

Welcome!!! The AL is an awesome guitar, glad you found out what most are missing out on. :D

As for posting prices, MSPR only. But you could call your local Guitar Center and they might be able to tell you what they are selling for. They just were introduced @ Winter NAMM.

As the saying goes around here "It doesn't exist without pictures!!!", hahahaha.

VintageD,

Please fill out your profile....especially your location. I've now found 3 Guitar Centers close to me with HH Als. Us forumites tend to know where stuff is. :D

I just received my new AL guitar and can't put it down.

You're not the only one who feels this way.....I do too and have not yet even bought my Al.

I was just like you 5 years ago - fell in love with the AL and now I'm not interested in playing my Les Paul, although since getting my ALs' I have got some balls with buckers.

So welcome to the forum and as the guys have said when the pics are posted you can join the hallowed ranks of the Albert Lee Owners Club (ALOC);)

Here she is. The color is Radiance Red with white ice pickgard. The red has little sparkles in it which actually looks really cool under the lights. I would like to thank pete Dubaldo for this guitar. I am hooked for life with these guitars.

Thats a great combination, and pretty rare too I'd say, congratulations and welcome on board. The first time I played an AL I knew I had to have one. I will never be without one.....ever. Like you, once I played EBMM , I sold everything else :D
