Okay - belated new guitar day; this actually came in on Wednesday. However, it came in late in the day so I let it warm up before even really checking it out for damage on Thursday. Now that it's Saturday I've had a chance to put it through its paces, shoot some photos and post a brief report.

First, the specs: Silo Special, rosewood board, S/S/S, Trem, Olive Gold, gold swirl pickguard - ordered on the day before the color was discontinued;)

Next, the photos - and olive gold is kind of hard to shoot:

Quick tone report: I have had a couple of Silo Specials before (my usual "60s Strat" configuration of rosewood board, S/S/S and trem - at least the colors have been different). The Silo Special just works for me to fill the Strat slot; I've let them go in the past because I figured I could always get another one that would be just as good. Well, I was wrong on that account - each new one has been better than the one before (I've had a 2004, a 2007, and now a 2010). The Silo Special kind of flies under the radar, but BP and crew do a stellar job on these guitars. Yeah, I guess I will always kind of miss the 2007 since it was a Blue Dawn LE, but the the olive gold is sure making it easier to forget that one. It's just a good-sounding 60s/70s style single coil guitar that is extremely comfortable to play; the perfect neck shape for me.

Thanks to Pete DuBaldo as always for making it an easy transaction.

I REALLY like that guitar John. Let me know if you get tired of that sucker.

Well not only do I love this one but my wife loves it as well - said it was her favorite of all the guitars I've owned over the years. She would probably crack me over the head with it if I tried to sell it;):p

All kidding aside I think I've learned my lesson; I'm going to always have a Silo Special around.
