Does anyone have pictures of the Hot Rod Red Axis or Super Sport they can post? I only found one picture on the site in another thread. Not much info that I can find on the net about these guitars.

Thanks.......

Hi Browndog, thanks that is one good looking guitar. Looks like I am going to pick one up, but before I had it shipped to my local store I wanted to get a good look at it. I understand it was a GC limited run, I assume it is a standard Axis and the only difference between this and the standard Axis is the color and pickup covers.

Thanks again.....

I’m not positive on the specs but I think your correct. I’m sure someone who knows for sure will chime in.

Yep have one an Axis Super Sport Hot Rod Red, and yes limted edition for GC, 40 Axis\Axis Super Sports were made and landed in stores last November, I picked mine up during the Thanksgiving Black Friday Sale had only been in the store a couple of days.

Yes the only difference is pick up covers, speed knobs and the back is painted in the same color instead of black, it is a killer color and the stock photo browndog showed is a perfect representation of it mine do it no justice but here they are, you wont regret picking one up.

Thanks everyone for the help. I have asked the guitar to be shipped so I should be able to play it next week and try it out. I have never had the Axis style trem system before, it is the only thing I am not sure that I will like. I want the maple neck and understand that the Axis had the maple and the Super Sport has the rosewood. Can wait to try it out.

Thanks again everyone.

Hope you get it and no worries on the floyd on the Axis, I too always for years had reservations about it but once I tried it I liked it.

I was able to go and play one tonight, I ended up liking the floyd. The one they have has a huge chunk of wood and binding missing. Another store has one they are sending in, should have it next week.

This will be my first guitar without a tone knob, I hear if you back off the volume a little you can adjust the tone some.

Thanks again for all the input. Very cool guitar.

Actually the super sport is available with an all-maple neck and fingerboard....just in case you decide you can't deal with the floyd rose.

I was told the Super Sport in this color was only with the rosewood neck. This could be wrong, there does not seem to be much information out on this run of guitars.

Hi Fingbeagles, do you know if there were a total of 40 each or 40 total of both the Axis and the Axis Super Sport? Also did the super sport only come with the rosewood neck?

Thanks......

Although I wonder what it'd have looked like with black binding and black hardware.

I believe it was 40 total Axis\ASS, trying to remeber since that info was posted almost half a year ago, not sure about the fretboard, but I have only seen the Axis in maple and the ASS in rosewood sothats most likely true.
