Hi guys, I'm a nooby here but been reading up on much of yr comments. Loved the Musicman since first saw Morse play live 15 yrs back.

You guys are correct, you just can't buy only one guitar. :)

I could not make up my mind between Purple Sunset YTD, which was the best looking guitar I'd ever set eyes on, and the Standard Blueburst and every week that went by my mind alternated quicker than SM's fingers. So did what all you guys would have suggested.... I brought em both

So I'm now an EBMM addict too and really enjoyinig this forum.:D

Just gotta learn to play the thinig now:eek:

Proud to be part of the gang. This is my first attempt so hope this pic appears

is this an upgraded quilttop on the Y2D? (custom made stamp on the backplate?)

I agree with your decision making process......sometimes the stress of deciding between guitars is just not worth it in the end........:D

Those Morse guitars are killer......love the top on the Y2D......

congratulations on a great pair of Morses - almost the same as my two (Std with floyd and Y2D with tunomatic)
just different finishes,thats all.

how'd you find them both when comparing them? I like the neck shape and general feel/look of the Y2D a little more but prefer the tone options on the Std. I'm actually debating whether to trade my Y2D for a blueburst std just because I love the extra tones. The slanted pickup on the std is the secret sauce.

Welcome to the forum and to the EBMM family! Also, consider this a personal invite to join the S.M.O.C. (Steve Morse Owner's Club). I know everyone goes nuts over your Y2D's top and it is very nice; but to me, there's something very special about the Morse Blue Burst - especially the older finishes as they are lighter.

Cheers Butch... I thought I had joined the SMOC group too but will certainly check it out. Still finding my way around this forum lark.........

Gonna be strange if Steve Morse does retire no.1 will be end of an era.
