DOB request please

Hi, I'm new to the Ernie Ball forum but have loved playing my John Petrucci model for a while now, it's made me a complete convert from Gibson's. I still love the Gibson LP Customs (especially vintage ones) but the JP is just so beautiful to play in comparison (I think anyway!).

Could I please request a DOB for my John Petrucci and any other info that is available as I bought theguitar off ebay a bit back and don't know much about it. I have seen a lot of cheaper JP's and would like some info on what makes some models a lot more expensive than others? I have seen the BFR models and understand that the are a cut above. I paid £700 for mine and really hope I haven't been ripped off! I love playing it though so won't be too bothered if I've been slightly fleeced it's just that I know nothing about the John Petrucci model's hierarchy and would like to know where mine sits in it please? Thank you in adavance. Jon.

Hi Jon and welcome to the forum!

Your JP was done on 8/16/06. Here is a link to the product page that has the specs for the current model: Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci 6 Guitar
The only difference from the current model and yours would be the pickups. Yours would have the D-Sonic in the bridge position and a custom wound DiMarzio in the neck. As far as the JP models go (non-BFR) there are a few different options and upgrades you can get. You can add the piezo pickup, matching painted headstock, and custom JP shield inlays to the base model. From the serial number, it looks like yours has the custom inlay upgrade. You can check past history sales on ebay to see what other ones like yours have sold for to get a better feel for the pricing on used JP's currently. I hope this info helps!
