As a sound guy I just find it funny that you have to "look" like the amps on stage are for the main sound and audience when the amps and cabs are offstage being mic'd.

I hate fake backlines and waht a waste of trailer space and gas to tow the "look" around IMO

You go to a show - ya expect to see a spectacle. it is kinda funny but all part of the show.
I could quite happily cope with my old 5w Wem miked up thro the pa as could the other guitarist and bass player - but it wouldn't look the same would it?

But yeah as I've said - it's funny to see that.

It would be nice to decorate my guitar room with some fake Marshall, WEM, and Orange cabs.........

You know, that is a terrific idea. Perhaps we could run a competiton who gets up the biggest fake 'wall of sound' haha

Be cheaper than the damn priced wallpaper my ol' lady picks up. Do the lounge while she is away the weekend that should go down well

Cheers

I love your picture B2D :p

I don't really understand why the guitarists want to show a huge amount of gear that they doesn't actually use...

I dunno...

I would say it's a compensation thing, but JP's biceps are the size of hams to I won't question his need for an unplugged wall. ;)

Endorsement deals? Theatricality?

I say if you're gonna put something on for show, then REALLY put on a show like my referenced pic.
