Okay, so I KNOW it's still five months away and threads like this are like third nipples.

But I'm going to make my predictions for winter NAMM anyhow.

- There will be no fundamentally new model.

- The Gamechanger will surface and, for those of us lusting after the Big Al and its awesome standard electronics package, make it nearly impossible to choose which to go for. Sleep will be lost over this and large numbers of electrons will make the valiant final sacrifice in the process of discussing which is the best choice. Inconclusive polls will appear, in which every possible answer will receive statistically significant support.

- The new cool tuners will become a regular production feature, but will not be available on the bass you want. Tough.

- New finishes will appear. They will be another variation on white/black/silver/gray. :p

Now, since I have a solid record of wrong guesses when it comes to this stuff, I will now greatly increase the chances that certain things will happen by predicting that they won't.

- Desert Gold will NOT be reintroduced.
- There will be NO two-tone/burst finish available on the Bongo.
- Trans Orange/Red/Gold will NOT be made available on the Big Al.
- Pearl Purple will NOT appear on the color charts.

Discuss/speculate.

Fantasy W.A.G. Time!!!

After coming out with all possible configurations thought of (so far) for solid body EBMMs basses, a new line of semi-hollow body/acoustic line will be announced. A new 3 band Piezo system will be introduced that works with the new line of nylon roundwound slinkys that these basses will come strung with!

WOW! That felt good :D

right now, dreaming is all I can do, so what the heck?!?

A little madness is a healthy thing - so how about this:

The Bongo II (or Bongo Evolution) will be introduced. It features the new tuners and generally matte/satin hardware. All models including the single H come with the 4 band EQ. The glossy & satin colour scheme of the original Bongo will remain as an option, while the Bongo Evo's neck will come with the well known oil & wax finish and glossy headstock, making white finishes possible again.

A new line of bold, bright finishes will be availabe, including white and yellow. (1 each for me, please!)

One more thing: the Bongo II can be ordered as a BFR model featuring a maple top, thus making all the trans and burst finishes available, and an optional all rosewood neck.

Finally, european prices will be adjustet to place the EBMM line into the same market segment as in the US, resulting in soaring sales.

... yes nurse, I'm here! No, I didn't touch your keyboard! :D

Gamechanger and some new colors. I think something orange and something greenish, likely with sparkles. And maybe something like a Big Al 6 or Sterling 6? We'll see...

My predictions:

1) Music Man will preview a prototype of the Stingray 6 (come on, Music Man, you know you want to....)

2) Eight new finishes will be debuted. Six of them will be discontinued after their first year in production. The two remaining finishes will be Kind-Of-A-Dusty-Looking-Not-Entirely-Black-Black-But-Still-Pretty-Black Black and Translucent Peacock Blue.

3) The SLO neck option will be made available on the Bongo 4.

4) BP will preview the Dargie Delight III package. Said package will feature a color-shifting green finish that glows in the dark and the fingerboard will contain red LED inlays. Lined fretless basses will have LED fretlines.

5) An attendee at random will be selected to arm-wrestle John Petrucci. (Although please be careful not to injure him - he needs his arms and hands to write the next Dream Theater album.) If John loses a best-two-out-of-three, Mystic Dream will become available on the Bongo. (Again, come on, you know you just want to.)

I predict the Gamechanger will debut on an instrument especially made to utilize its potiential. This instrument will also boast the new tuners.

Not content to just offer roasted necks, EBMM offers roasted chestnuts, weenies, and duck at this years NAMM booth as part of the expanded BP Smokers line.
