Although I am a Stingray man through and through, I have to admit that the Bongo really is the best sounding bass EB puts out. I almost hate plugging mine in because it makes my other basses pale in comparison.

Mine is only a 4HP and I cannot imagine how much better the 4HS sounds.

HS is great but there's something so perfect about the single H. My fave EBMM is a silver Bongo H.

Mark, to me the Big AL in SSS format doesn't sound as bold and as brazen as a Bongo. It is a GREAT pocket bass IMO but the Big B perfectly hits that middle ground between the nasty in your face bite of the Ray and the somewhat laid back AL. Maybe a single H AL can hit that spot for me.

yes my friend...the single h is called the big poppa bongo for a reason!

When I get my roasted, it will be a Bongo 4H. It will be interesting to compare it to my DDII Bongo 4HH. Although, I am also kind of curious. Will the Roasted Bongo 4H sound differently from a regular Bongo 4H? I can't remember if roasting the neck and headstock will also change the tone of the bass at all or not?

If single H Bongo, than Hp 'cause of 4 band EQ, ...H without piezo have only 3 band EQ! ;)

But that's my personal opinion!

I don't know if I can ever get used to the look of a Bongo, but if I did, it'd definitely be a single H.

I've always been a Ray fan. I've had a few. Lets see.....Graperay, who was a SR5 HP,
two different regular Ray 5's, a blue one with a maple board, and an Autumnburst Sparkle with a rosewood board. I had a pre EB SR I got from Jack, and a SR4 HH from that old forum that shall be nameless when Jackson was working "sales".

I also had a red bongo, which I ended up trading to Travis for a white sparkle sterling.

Vary tones without limitation? Sure! Whatever I need!

Well, I'll just use my BLEND CONTROL....

Oh wait, I have only an H, there IS NO Blend Control!!!!!

Boohoohoo, oh for shame, I am so over!! Woe is me.

(Shoulda got a HH)

:D

And yes, an added piezo would be shizzle.

My HP has a blend :) (and 4band EQ, which was the reason why I got the piezo)

Sometimes I forget that I have some piezo blended in then I begin slapping and the bass starts popping and crackling.

So it blends the H with the piezo, huh?

Well that's OK.

But all this self-righteousness about the Single H in the Sweet Spot and all that;

Harumph.

Yes all good, all variants, All Bongo all the time.

But...

HH

Have a nice day.:D

I need to stop coming on here.

I haven't even taken delivery of my first MM yet and I'm already thinking about putting some cash aside for my next one.

Bongo 5 fretless btw ;)
