This is cool. it began with a guitar of this colour:

It was a guitar made in 2000. Which eventually changed to this:

And finally (today), it's become this:

I didn't realise it changed so much until I looked at some of the older pics, and also saw the new shade in today's light. And get this: This major change occurred within these 2 years.

I wonder what Dizzy's white Silo looks like now...:p

Lionel - do you smoke? Must be something in the paint that is sensitive to something in the environment..

Looks pretty creamy now...

Must smoke like a volcano cos it has changed the pickups and the pickguard over those years too :D

That creamy aged look is superb... does it see alot of sunshine ? Don't have that problem in the UK.. my white guitar has stayed exactly the same over five years mainly due to the frostbite I guess haha:)

Wonder where it will go in another couple of years .. primrose yellow ?
Who needs a mystic dream when you got that

Cheers Baz

it's like with wine - as older as better :) I mean for real, white is white, but this creamy shade it got now is wonderful! I really love this natural transformation!

edit: you should also consider changing the name from WHITE to BUTTERCREAMstrat :D

The thing is, the colour changes because the lacquer gets yellow. Not the paint. Didn't expect the reaction to be this quick though. I thought only nitro ages this fast.

It's cool to have the guitar change colour, yet remain in undamaged condition. No dings or scratches. So no, it wasn't reliced.

I don't smoke around my guitars, and it's not been gigged in smokey areas because Singapore bans smoking in pubs. It's been in air condition approximate 80% of the time, and rarely gets exposed to direct sunlight.

So it's odd that it's aged so much. My friends who haven't seen this guitar in months thought I bought a new one!

P.S. I never used an AT1. That's either a Fred, Mojoe, or currently a protrack (dimarzio's best kept secret) in the bridge.

I love that color and sold a Strat in August that had the same transformation. But I will give the credit to cigarette smoke lol, as I am at my worst lighting up when playing.I really have to kick the habit, but I cant stand those for sale listings - guitar has been kept in my smoke free apartment or house which seem to be the rage. Would anyone really not by a guitar they have been searching for because the guys smokes?
