My 16 y/o daughter Nicole has been playing with my band for a few months now since the summer, and did a gig with me last weekend (me on guitar). Before the gig, she thought it might be a "good idea" if she played my Stingray. As you might imagine, I may never get it back. Here are some pics:

I ran her through a SansAmp BDDI->QSC power amp->GK 4x10. Great tone all night long.

She's been playing for 2 years this month. She plays fretless and reads in her high school jazz band, and digs the old school Duck Dunn stuff. Her sightreading is getting phenomenal. I'm real proud of her development.

The singer in the pic toured as Jake in a Blues Brothers tribute act for 20+ years, so we do all the classic Stax stuff, and she nails it. Like, really nails it. She is now my #1 call.

Can you tell by her smiles that the Stingray is working out for her? :)

(But she *really* wants a Big Al.)

Signed,

Proud Dad

It is very cool. The experience is never lost on me.

Sweet! And I don't think you're getting that bass back.

Very cool and yea not going to get it back, unless you get her the Big AL :D Tis almost Christmas:)

The bandleader in me is thinking that Big Al is a Modern Funk Machine perfect for my band... ;)

Luckily, my wife owns a used car lot, so the car is handled. We got her a used GMC Jimmy - perfect for hauling that GK 4x10 around in.

Now she just needs to finish driver's training...

Consider yourself blessed. None of my 2 kids want anything to do with making music.
There's always grandkids!

That's cool! My six year old gives quick flashes of interest in my axes.... then backs off for a few weeks while she draws and paints...
We shall see.... I'd really like her to play drums so that we can groove out.

I'm jealous of the sight reading thing, that's my unattainable utopia right there.
