What is the ultimate Stingray to You?

Is it a…
- Classic 4 in some mint green with hip white pickup
- An ubber modern 5 HH with all the tonal options possibly with some roasted goodness
- You 78 natural 4 3bolt that you are going to will to your first born
- Your heavy-ish 30th punch machine

Nah I’m just a Bongoloid

;)

Hmm, That would be one with a lighter, slightly smaller body, smaller neck, 3 band EQ and a switch that allows me to split the single H... or maybe a a stingray with 3 Single coils, 4 band EQ and more modern cut? :D

That would be option 1 without question - but fretless! OK, fretted sounds great as well...;)

Oli, that is one beautiful bass! I especially love the "flame of color" that goes into the horns. Unfortunately, they don't do that anymore and I think it looks mighty fine!!!! :)

I have owned a bunch of Rays but the 30th was the one that stayed with me all this time. I often wonder what the Mahog body would sound like paired with a 2 band. JOSH

I wonder the very same thing. There are times I struggle with the aggressive mids on mine.

itd have to be something i havent already got so id say a natural maple board 3 band SR4H and a vintage sunburst maple board SR4HH. Or either colour in a pre EB ray 77-79. Lovely pics guys im v envious especially of the sunburst (is it through body or top load) and the walnut. Oh and craigs gold chick magnet.
