MM Sterling 5

Today I got my new Musicman Sterling 5, used bass in vintage sunburst, with serial nr F21920. I'd guess it was made in about July 2008.. Can it be verified?

Thanks, Anders.

Thank you Aziah. Is there anything else you can tell me about the SR5 with serial 55527? I don't know the instrument well enough to describe its components to my insurance company, so can you tell me the type of wood, pickups, etc? Anything would be helpful.

Also, if someday this bass is stolen or destroyed, do you either have a ball park replacement value for this, or alternatively, a recommendation (and value) of a comparable replacement bass?

The body wood is Ash, neck is Maple. The pickups are Music Man humbuckers with ceramic magnets. I can't really comment on used value of youf bass. It will depend on a lot of different factors, but ultimately it is worth what someone is willing to pay. We suggest that you check past history sales on ebay for basses similar to yours to get an idea of what a comparable bass would cost.
I have a Musicman Slo Special 4 String Serial#: E75744

Just looking for a manufacture date.

Thanks!

Hi all MM users. I've just registered in the hope of getting information on a Stingray 4 I just got. Could anyone let me know how to find out all the details of my bass from a serial number I found on the bridge?

It is : 47421

It looks kinda older, it has the old style bridge and battery door.

Any help would be much appreciated.

With regards,

Peter Erdei jr.

Hello all, new user here.

I stumbled across this forum while trying to date the stingray that will soon be mine (layaway). It is a stingray that has been touched by the bass gods. No other ray I have tried can compare to the tone of this beauty or the playability. The serial number is 32506. Already checked the database in the first post, nothing. All I want is a DOB, I am certain that everything is original on it. Many thanks in advance :)

This serial number does not come up in our database. If it is a pre-Ernie Ball bass we will not have any info on this one.
