Well Im at work and just got the call from the gf. My green tribute has arrived! Best part of this story, its pouring rain where I live and guess what, UPS didnt even knock on the door. They left a 2000 dollar package on the front porch, in the pouring rain, in the city without knocking and obtaining a signature! Just by chance my gf went to check the mail and there is my guitar package soaked! Now I typically like to unwrap my own presents but she said the box was so soaked it fell apart when she picked it up! I unfortunately had to have here open it up to make sure the guitar itself hadnt gotten went or damage. Oddly enough, GC only single boxed it for shipping? So not only will UPS be getting a call from me, Im gonna call Dallas and see why they only single boxed. Anyways, she is ok and the gf sent a picture and it looks amazing. Cant wait to get home, pics soon

Great story, man. I'm totally digging the invisible paint job, too. :p

UPS??? Wish I could say I was surprised. Be grateful they didn't open up the case and lay it under your gutter down spout. THAT would be par for the course.

Single boxing is pretty much the norm from GC as far as my experiences go. I'm usually lucky if the case isn't flopping around loosely in the box. And UPS should only leave packages if the Deliver Without Signature option is checked. If it was, then that's GC's choice and not UPS. But anyway, glad the guitar is OK. Let's see it!

Its nice open and rolling big quilt and very even throughout the top. such an incredible top on this one. Will get more pics up this weekend with an outdoor shoot of my 2 balls at the moment

Was that the one at the GC in North Dallas? Great player. I looked at it for a long time before ending up going with the trans black one from Houston instead.

Dude, that is a KILLER top. That top blows away my green Tribute! Congrats!

At least UPS is better than FedEx Ground, in my experience. FedEx Ground would tie the box to the back of the truck and drag it on the highway to try and dry it out.

Thanks guys! She is almost too nice to play, but did sound amazing through the H&K. On a side note, never really played 9's, always been a 10's guy...until now! I love the way these feel with 9's, so smooth. Gonna try to get it to Noll this weekend for a setup with the cobalts, neck is a little out due to the humidity change from TX to RI. Also got the complaint filed on UPS. They didnt want to do it at first bc they said without a sig required they dont have to knock but then I mentioned he left it directly in the pouring rain they changed their tune. 5 minutes after filing it with a customer service rep the service center called to apologize. I work for Conway Freight driving the big rigs so I know that guy should have known better. Thats not good business. Plus they said they have weather bags theyre supposed to use in situations like that. Anyways, more pics coming soon
