For a very short time our IT department left my photobucket unlocked. It was a stupid mistake but all the pics that I had posted had disappeared because in the interest of security and my person privacy I had scrambled them which broke the link

So anxious forumites in search of more than I was willing to offer in terms of viewing of the Majesty took it upon themselves to view my personal photobucket account. The account is locked and I am done....I may stop posting all together that is how violated I feel....I feel like I included you guys like no other company on the planet and it wasnt enough.

Now before you say it was fair game...lets say I left my wallet on a table in a room with you guys....would you open it?

Jeez BP. That is just not right and is morally wrong for so many reasons.

I'm sure knuckleheads will be really sorry that this happened. Those people involved should hang their heads in shame at this violation of your privacy.

Is there any way your IT gurus could trace the IP address of the violator(s) - then name, shame and ban them?

Leave's a real bad taste in my mouth and has spoilt it for so many avid fans here.

Sorry BP.

Late Edit

Wonderdog - I was wondering if there were any legal implications in this morally wrong invasion of privacy?
Maybe add something to the Forum Decorum sticky? - I know you could easily end up with a "War & Peace" sized sticky if every aspect were included, but maybe this needs to be added?

Sterling, sir. I thank you for doing what you are doing and I understand your frustration and feeling violated. I would also feel the same if that were me and I totally understand. Perhaps you might want to reconsider, since we are family, and this seems geared towards all of us, rather than one person, or certain amount. I don't want to cause any problems by this post, and I really do appreciate all that you do. If you still choose not to post or share news, I again do understand your take on this..

Damn. I hate that happened to you and now due to the lack of morals of some jabroni's the "good guys" get punished for it. I don't blame you either. Shame you do more than any other company to include us and this happens.

Sorry that this happened. I'm pretty IT ignorant so probably would have been lost trying to look at your PB account. I do always assume that others will get into my pb account, so never upload pix unless I'm willing to let the world see them. I tend to be paranoid......I have no pix of my kids, for example.

We are privileged to hear and see early accounts of new things here and I really like seeing new stuff, even if my guitar limit is at it's max. I cruise lots of other brand sites and none of them give members any advanced notice that I've seen.

I'm sorry to hear that you were violated like that, BP.

I'm sure all of us who didn't commit this grievious act feel terrible that you were taken advantage of. All I can say is: Thank you very much for sharing all that you have shared with us. You didn't have to do that, but in doing so you made our experience here very exciting and enjoyable.

I hope you and your family and everyone at ebmm have a nice Thanksgiving.

Big Poppa, I am so sorry this happened to you. There always seems to be at least one bad apple in every barrel. I appreciate all that you do for us on the forum and it is just not right that someone would violate your trust in this way. Once your initial anger passes, I hope you will continue posting as there are really good people on this forum that really appreciate your comments.

So sorry that this has happened, BP. Given how generous you have always been, it is unfathomable how someone could do something so disrespectful.

I am grateful for what you have shared in the past and I understand if that will no longer be the case.

This is ****ed up. I´m sorry for you.

It is easy for me to say, because nobody have violated my private space, but what you were doing with the sneak peaks was something the people was enjoying a lot and that I think strengthen the sense of communty and proximity between users and the brand. I was loving it for sure.

I wish you guys are able to work around what happened and don´t let one jerk to ruin all.

Wow, what an asshole.
Sorry to hear this BP, thanks for all that you've shared so far! I can only imagine how frustrating it is to do something good for your customers to only be spited in the end.

Wow I hope whoever did it gets a good dose of karma. It's a shame that in this day and age of technology, some people become convinced that just because lots of information is available to them instantly, that they start to believe that any "secret" information should also be known to them instantly, and then do things like hack into accounts and such. There's a reason why patience is a virtue. In this case it's because the Majesty is clearly going to be amazing and that we should all enjoy the full unveiling together, with the teasers building up anticipation and getting people to wonder what it could be like.

At least that's my two cents on the matter. Anyways, I'm so sorry Sterling.

Your IT department should be able to see what IP addresses were involved in this and then block the IPs from accessing the site, forums, etc.

That's truly awful news BP, I am really sorry that your goodwill has been so badly abused and your privacy violated, that's indefensible.

I completely understand your decision to stop sharing pictures with us but I hope you also know that the vast majority of forumites are only here out of respect for your products and wouldn't dream of intruding beyond that.

What a bummer. No, I wouldn't steal you wallet and I think most here wouldn't either. There's always someone who will though... way of the world.
