I bought my Stingray new in 2000 (if I remember correctly), but was just wondering of there was a way to know it's exact manufacture date. Serial # is E10963. It's trans orange with a matching headstock, and originally had a white pickguard, but I switched that out to a tortoiseshell right away. It's a great bass!
Thanks in advance!

Our serial numbers are not chronological. I doubled checked each serial number and all dates listed above are correct.
Thanks for the answer, A.J. Have my bass an ash body? As I know, last Stingrays are made of ash only.

"January 24th, 2001 ... the color is interesting, Lavender Pearl"

Thank you for the info and for your time A.J.

Lavender pearl is indeed a color that i find very cool.
besides, it goes perfectly with the maple fretboard.
I have actually never met again this combination on a stingray (always rosewood).
There mustn't be a lot of them !

cheers!

That may be a Sterling by Music Man instrument possibly?

Yes, yours is ash.

Serial is F24185 Big AL Sunburst maple neck

Is it Alder or Mahogany? Thanks!

October 15th, 2009. Alder.

Based on the date it was produced (May 31st, 2002) it should be an ash body. It was done for artist relations though so its possible that an artist wanted an alder body. Unfortunately I don't have a confirmation of what it is for certain.

Hi ... Can you give me the details on this bass?

E54450

Thanks !!!

That serial number yields no information in our database.

Had my Stringray for a long time. Just wondering what the DOB is. #E01888 Stringray Translucent Teal.

Hello everyone - absolute Stingray newb here. I'm getting set to purchase what the current owner claims is an '05 MM Stingray 4. I was doing some research to see the serial number supports this - the problem is, the picture with the serial number is really blurry. I think it's E49898? The bass itself looks to be sunburst with a rosewood neck and white pick guard. Can anyone help me verify that the serial number (which, again, is REALLY blurry) matches with the guitar and year?

The guy who sold her to me said he purchased before 1993 (!?!). The headstock is blach and "music man" it is written in capital letters . The writing is encycled. In the bridge there is the writing "sterling" in place of music man......I attached some pics. Thanks for your help 3418626_1390947457.jpg 3418626_1390947665.jpg
