I have a mysterious Classic Series SR4. The serial number is: B015770. It is very similar to the first Classic Series Basses that were offered by Guitar Center in 2009 and 2010. It has a classic series body (string-through bridge, 2-EQ, string mutes) and a standard series satin finished neck with the classic series logo, but not silver plated). But as far as I know, all classic series basses had that chrome plate battery compartment. Mine has the contemporary plastic compartment and it looks as if this was factory equiped with the plastic battery compartment. I bought in in Austria!

Hi guys. Just received my new Big Al 4H. I'm hoping to get the born on date and confirm the wood used for the body. I heard some of the first models used alder and not mahogany. Mine is a NOS from The Perfect Bass. S/N: F27254

Please double check the serial number as our numbers don't have 2 letters. E23658 brings up a natural.

September 1st, 1994. The color is called "Natural Velvet" and the body is ash, neck is maple.




If the serial number is E50543 then your bass was completed on February 9th, 2006, the body is ash, the neck is maple with rosewood fretboard, the color is honeyburst and the pickup is ceramic.
