Hi guys!

Thought I'll share my story on what happened saturday at the london acoustic guitar show/electric live here.

I was and am very overwhelmed to have won. the sterling is a great guitar and as I mention in the video I think it sounds better than my old Axis Sport.

Cheers

Great job, Mike! I really enjoyed the devil duel video.

I wonder who the devil was? He had crazy hair like Guthrie Govan, but he didn't look skinny enough to be Guthrie.

Hey, wait a minute...you're in Australia...was that Dean Wells?

I can't see the video whilst in work - but if it's the same "Devil" as has appeared on the music stands over the years - we've had a few beers and a good few laughs together!!
If it is - he's a forum member. View Profile: The Devil - Ernie Ball Forums
I won't spoil it by naming him just yet - It would be like telling you I am the Stig!!! (mmm wonder if our American bretheren will understand that one)

Sell your soul to the devil and you get a devil mask for only $1 extra! Order before this time tomorrow and get a free set of steak knives!

I'm not entirely sure we've gone quite far enough left of field on this topic. Let's keep going. :D

Just got home and watched the 'tube clip. Great stuff. Yeah I've had a "Devil of a time" with him, - Blind Lemon & Ming were sometimes in tow too.
The Devil does a great job fo MM - the crowd love him.

So when do I get to upgrade the T shirt into a guitar then lol

Well done, Mike! Nice playing!

So I watched the vid of you doing the actual duel, and what do I spot...

new Music Man amps!! What did they sound like, Mike?

Mike devil duel - YouTube

Thank you sir, I didnt realise they were new, they sounded pretty good to me, though I didnt get a chance to fiddle with the EQ though, just one of those pick up a guitar and go kind of moments :)

Thank you buddy, and of course thank you to all of you for the kind words, Now I dont want to give the game away either, but its certainly not Guthrie, Guthrie has WAY much more hair than the devil :)

Hello Knuckleheads,

Mikey, you were indeed the most deserving winner of the guitar, really musical and playing with me rather than against me certainly was noticed by all the boys on the stand. Also having watched your video you certainly have some cool grooves that you didn't get chance to showcase at the show, and, thanks for lending me the shades! I'm sure Big Poppa will be pleased with comments on the AX40.

The Devil certainly does have a lot less hair than Guthrie and also wishes he could play like Guthrie as well!

Doing the duels is meant to be a lot of fun and myself and the guys at Strings and Things are happy that people get up, whatever their level of playing, and take it as such. Like many things we couldn't do it without people taking part.

Indeed Spud it is the same Devil you have quaffed ale with in the past and hopefully there will remain only one Devil, like Highlander I think there can be only one!

The new Musicman amps sound really cool, I've tried them all over the weekend. They have a great clean sound which you can colour with pedals of your choice like we did at the show with numerous Mooer pedals, if you saw Bryan Kellner's demo's you can hear a lot of what you can do sonically. They are also incredibly light, so if you're a few thousand years old like me it's easy on the back! You can lift the 4x12 with one hand!

I would like to say a big thank you to the boys at Strings and Things, they asked me to do the show, and we've been doing them together for nearly ten years! Demonstrating MM guitars is a great job and they're so consistent that even if I don't use my own guitar you know the one you pick up, whatever model, will be great straight out of the box.

A special thanks to Alex at S&T, I know his brain had turned to soup by the time of the show organising and building stands. The Musicman Stand looked amazing!

Thanks for all the kind comments on my playing, if you would like to know my true identity you need to look at posts by Blind Lemon or just OM Spud!

See ya soon,

The Devil

I would like to point out that when I say my "own" guitar, my main squeeze is a Silo Special but I also like the Morse and have used them a long time.
