When I moved to Texas the first time - ‘twas 1976 - everyone was talking about how Austin used to be cool but was nowhere near as cool now/then.
In the 80s, everybody pined for the Austin of the 1970s. It used to be way cooler in the 70s. Everyone knew it.
I moved around a lot in the 90s but came back to Texas in 1999. Everybody told me that Austin had been really hip until the 90s came along.
Now I’ve been in Dallas for about 20 years and there’s a consensus. How Austin was terrific maybe 10 years ago but no more, no more.
Makes you wonder if Austin will even EXIST in 10 years or so.
Is there a lesson here? Don’t ask me, I’m just the bassist.

I will like to see the old style bridge, like in the Stingray Classics as an option in the "custom Shop"...
This! And a non neodymium pickup option… seriously.. if I had to buy one of those special stingrays I’d more than likely change out the pickup and drill it for a old style bridge.. I have a spare Sterling made one…. Meaning buying a older used one or Upgrading a sterling like what I just did is where I’m at.. in terms of where ebmm is now… they look to be doing fine and putting out stuff people like. Vibes and feels? you make them as you go along…

@mynan, good to see you! Scrolling down I completely forgot what your post was really about (age does that), but I too kind of miss the old days. But then, I have only bought two EBMM new, and the rest mainly form fellow forum members. Plus, I think the Blood Orange Bongo 4HH is hawt, and maybe I will have the means to buy one before that too is discontinuded.
