Some if you know me and for that, I am truly sorry. For those who find me unfamiliar, I’m a bassist - some would argue even that - living in the DFW area. I’ve been on the forums since just before the Permian extinction event and yes, that makes me old. Also, somehow I’m Lord Bongo, a title I hoped would come with robes and scepter…those didn’t materialize but I did get some t shirts and strings so I’m not complaining.

i have a tiny but efficient studio here, The Scream Parlour. Sometimes I have ideas when there are no real guitarists or keyboard players around - or when sometimes they ARE around but want nothing to do with my idea. I don’t blame them too much. (There are 3 bovinehost solo albums that you can stream wherever those bandits appear, also on iTunes, Amazon, etc.) Anyway, when that happens, when I am shunned by my ‘friends’, the only option us to do it myself. I’m not saying it’s a GOOD option, but it is AN option. Thus do I own instruments other than basses.

I’ve had a few MM guitars - Valentines, Stingrays, Sabres, I forget what all - but a few years ago I settled on a gorgeous Orange Crush Albert Lee. It’s far more guitar than I deserve but there’s thankfully no law against wankers owning nice things. The OC AL continues to make me happy; I keep a few other guitars around for what I call “market research” and I THINK Sterling excuses this behavior. But I’ll tell you a secret: I have always had Silhouettes on my “if I were fabulously well-to-do” list, maybe because their shape reminds me of my beloved Stingray 5 basses. (i’ve had maybe 50 of those over the years and still have 2 - Heinz the Wonder Bass, a baby poop yellow 1999 model, and a Raspberry Beret Burst Special.)

A planned purchase fell through a couple of weeks ago and I had a little extra cash. Did anyone have a Silhouette for sale in my price range? Enter jamminjimi with this beautiful red/rosewood model. It arrived yesterday and is absolutely sweet. Thanks!
