Hello, I own a Musicman Axis guitar. I was wondering do most people remove the string tree when replacing strings?
Thanks

Never noticed if other players do that, but I imagine the logic is minimizing risk of scratching the headstock when fishing the strings underneath. I pre-bend the strings and work my way from inner-strings outwards for the same reason (and I'm too lazy to take the tree off!).

No, don't remove it. If you remove that a few times, the holes in the headstock will strip and it won't stay in. Just fish the strings under the tree.
