Gang,

Have been AWOL for several years - as my interest skewed more towards building chopper motorcycles - but been hanging onto my LARGE collection of EBMMs - mostly Steve Morse models.

I got up to about 95 guitars (probably 70 of them EBMMs), then sold off about 15 of them a few years ago... and got sad... because I really hate to sell guitars!

Unfortunately going to have to liquidate as I was in a pretty serious car accident about six months ago - rolled my truck four times and messed up my right hand to the point that it's not expected to EVER recover fully. Can't grip a drumstick, can barely hold a pick, will never fingerpick "Dust in the Wind" again...

Hard blow to take but have to console myself that I made to age 60 before shit hit the fan! :)

I'll be selling off most of my guitars via Reverb over the next couple years - and that's the story behind the story...

Kevin, welcome back! So sorry to hear about your accident, but glad you're still alive to tell the story. As a musician, I am very afraid of injuries that impact your ability to play. So sorry to hear that happened. As you know, I'm a big collector, too. DM me when you are ready to sell, maybe we can make something happen. I'm not really a Morse guy (I have one Y2D) but big (EBMM) EVH, Axis, Luke, Majesty fan.

Hi Kevin,
I´m very sad to hear about your injuries!
Missed you - always think of you when using the EBMM mug you sent me some years ago. Remember? It´s still in my office.
Will you post your Reverb channel? I´m not looking after many Morses but who knows what comes up?

Hey Kevin,

I'm so sorry to hear what had happened to your right hand and I hope there is a chance for more recovery as forseeable now. Maybe Steve himself can give you a little help with this:

I'm far away of feeling good by the fact that, as a result of your injury, there will be some offerings by you, but with me still loving to play Morse guitars, be sure I will scan reverb every single day.

All the best for you, my friend!!!

Thanks Gang!

Injury has impacted a lot more than just guitar playing, but I'm getting through...

I have a couple offline inquiries regarding buying some guitars and have shared info with them privately before going out to Reverb.

I'm not sure if it's against the rules to post up a list here - Mods sound off?!

Sorry to hear your news Kevin. I know all about the turning 60 part. Adding injury to that would be no fun at all. Hoping for the best for you man.

I've had numerous inquiries, but didn't want to post a list here until beej "gave the nod"...

Here's a list of the 36 EBMM Morses I have - plus a couple other interesting pieces - and have inquiries on several of these.

?/?/1980DiMarzioCustom Backup #2In the early 80s, Steve only had his FrankenTele and needed a backup guitar or two just in case anything happened to his “sole” guitar he had built himself. Steve was great friends with Larry DiMarzio (pickup manufacturer) and Larry personally made Steve two guitars that are identical to his FrankenTele – both with birdseye maple tops – one died blue and one “regular maple”. I have the “regular maple” one, which Steve has scratched his name into the headstock.

In 1976, when the Dixie Dregs were signed to Capricorn they received an “advance” on the album sales and Steve used it to upgrade the equipment – buying an Ampeg V4 amp head for himself which was then used on ALL the Dregs and Steve Morse Band recordings (and most touring) up through 1991. I have a letter from Steve for this – and still has masking tape on it where Steve would mark his settings!
