Hi,

Forgive me if this seems a stupid question, but there is method behind the madness.

Can anyone tell me if the tension required for all the .008 gauge string sets EB manufacture is the same? (i.e. the tension required for standard E tuning for titanium wound .008 - .038 compared to cobalt or classic slinky for example). Basically I’m wondering if the coating makes a difference?

Apologies if there’s no difference or it’s a stupid question.

Many thanks
José

I would think if there is a difference it would be marginal. The string core diameter is the biggest determinant of the tension, and I don't see why EBMM would use different core widths among the same type of strings, like round wounds.
