BFR AL sure is a GREAT axe. I want to play a hardtail to see if there's a different tone.

Rob,

I have played both and fell in love with the tremolo model. I wasn't listening for tonal differences since it was more of a comfort thing; but I don't think you can go wrong with either model. While I have said many times that the 20th is the best sounding guitar I have ever heard, I guess that should be modified to say "best sounding humbucking guitar" - the BFR AL is like single coils on 'roids, and is arguably the best sounding single coil guitar I have ever heard - I never wanted a single coil only guitar until I played the BFR AL!

Tomorrow I will A/B the hardtail and tremolo models and see what difference there is, if any.

I think with the AL i prefer trem too. Ive spent the past week A/B'ing my AL's, its a shoot out between my Blue Dawn rosewood SSS AL and the BFR, both are unreal, the Blue Dawn just has that warmer depper stratty vibe, the BFR is a bit more open and trebly, both are great great great.

These guitars are due in on Strings & Things next shipment in a couple of weeks. I'm going to bag one so they'll only be 9 up for grabs.
