Holy cow, is it that long? My Stingray and rig got sold off when I got married because a cooker and washing machine and bed etc etc etc somehow seemed more important at the time! Anyhow, I borrowed a mates P bass and amp while he was away on holiday and, although I'm very rusty I'm having a blast. The funny thing is I went to a jam night on Thursday and I was the only bass player (in the loosest sense of the term) who turned up, so I ended up playing most of the night. At the end of the evening I got chatting to three guys that had also been playing and it turns out they are a gigging band who have just lost their bass player- so I'm now in a rock/pop/blues covers band, learning songs furiously, learning scales and arpeggios even more furiously, and I don't even own a tuner, let alone a bass!
Anyhow, I've been gassing after a Bongo 4 HH but none of my local stores keep them and I won't buy without trying-apparently they don't come in Buttercream or Envy Green anymore either which is bad as they are the only 2 colours I like in this bass and the shape is ...well ... funky, but sometimes just appears plain funny. My local store does have a Stingray ltd edition in buttercream with a shell pickguard and matching headstock...mmmmm, but it's a 3eq and I prefer the 2eq.
Oh well back to the drawing board then.....
