I feared the gloss black finish. But no more. After 6 months of use, that finish still looks brand new. No hazing or anything. I don't know what it is, but boy it's a great finish. My black/gold LE is still UBER stunning.

thanks EBMM!!:D

edited to say, all I use is some dunlop 65 and a cotton rag.

Yeah, I've heard it is hard to blemish MM guitar finishes. My MD still looks brand new after a year of use. Very remarkable finish indeed...

EB finishes are as tough as nails. (I do not condone or recommend using nails to clean or maintain you instrument.;) )

Wish I could say the same. Unfortunately after less than a year of light home playing my guitar shows lots of laquer scratches, swirl marks, button marks and sweat stains and general dulling. God knows what state it would be in if I'd gigged it.
Also the gold plating is coming off the P/Us (in places where NO rubbing could take place)
Last time I buy a G***** with a nitroglycerine finish.
My Silhouette Special is in fine shape 8 years on.

Nitroglycerine? It's not nitrocellulose?

Yup. Had mystic Dream JP6 just over a year, and its been gigged alot. Always at rehearsels with me and more guitar lessons these days. I remember when I got it I was amazed at how the finish has almost a mirror like effect. And after a good clean with some EB guitar polish it looks new again. In fact, I did wonder how long it'd be before I ended up with pick scratches near the pickup selector. I know I hit the body with my pick when I'm strumming away. My acoustic will testify to that, but there really doesn;t seem to be any on my JP6. I figured it must be that the finish is quite tough.
