Ok,

  • So the worlds economy is broken,
  • Everybody on planet earth has a lot less disposable income than they used to
  • Chances of this happening/working out are slim but here goes....

I was looking back through the previous bash pics, and we had some wonderful times. In the current state of the world I think it's likely that EBMM/Strings and things could justify putting on a paid for event... However I've been thinking what if we got PROPERLY involved. I'm obviously pitching this for the UK & Europe, but US Knucks could do it do ? I'm happy to do stuff, I'm sure spud would, JimmyB is a student so would be able to help after 6pm when he gets up? - and i know many of you would chip in too.

I don't think this would be a small task, a lot of skype, hussle and money required, but between us we could do it.

Here's my current thinking, happy for you all to shoot me down in flames, or jump on board

Option 1. "lunatics take over" - Between us we organise the event, and raise funding either by making it a ticketted event to pay for venue, artist etc. (Jamie H for uk?) and we have the night - Maybe S&T Mr Ming could help us out with his contacts?

Option 2. "go off the radar" with the 2012 olympics coming EVERY venue in England will be expensive, because of supply and demand.... So have it in a retreat somewhere (SCotland/Wales/Ireland?) we'll get the venue much cheaper and maybe even some freebies as boosting a dwindling economy.

Option 3. - Do nothing and see how the new financial year goes for everyone....

I have a tradition that I ask BP to come to our bashes, obviously running several major businesses he's not been able to attend in previous years, but if we could trigger enough interest perhaps that could change in 2012 - "if you build it he will come" and all that.

Look forward to the cups of virtual wee being thrown at this thread....time starts.......now.

Being from a relatively small town growing up, the secret parties were always more exciting because it was all people in the know. I think we could all geek out more comfortably knowing that we all know the secret handshake to get in. I love the idea of meeting you guys in person because I've not been to a KNUCK event. I'm interested to see how this turns out even though I'm in the US and can't afford flying over the pond to attend.
