I was surprised to find that the 20th Silo was reviewed this month in Guitar World. the review was pretty much what I expected, although they didn't go into any detail about the clean tones. The only negative they had to say was that the neck pickup was not as mellow as a Les Paul. Of course, being a 24-fret guitar, I would expect the position of the neck pup to be brighter. I have a feeling they were really reaching for something to say on that one. :)

Here's the abridged online version: http://www.guitarworld.com/archives/2006/08/gw-ernie_ballmu.html

Chris Gill is a good guy for a writer! He used to come to all of the old biff Bay's gigs.....

I kkep waiting for some of those with EVH to show up on Utube....
Interesting. BP, how does that whole review process work? Do they ask for a review piece and accept whatever the manufacturer sends or perhaps order one without informing the company? I was surprised at the rapidity for which they would have had to get the guitar for a review to be in this month's issue.

Watch the CD that comes with the issue. There is a 5 minute demo of the guitar which is pretty cool. The only downside is when he explains the guitar he does not mention the tone block!

OK in 40 years I have never seen bad review. I have seen hundreds of editors choices that are no longer available...we have never won an editors choice award. We still make all of the models we have introduced in over 20 years. No to appear that they are objective they have to make a maditory criticism......THey called the Sting Ray 5 a one trick pony...THey gave the 20th a whack for not sounding like a les paul...DUHHHH
