20th Silhouette VS regular Silhouette

anyone have experience with both models?

I'm particularly interested in how the neck contour of the 20th anniversary model compares with the production model Silhouette.

I've read a lot about the 'richer', 'fuller' sound of the 20th since it has a mahogany tone block.

I have 2 of each and the neck contours seem the same to me. The 20th guitar is a bit heavier in weight. The tone of the 20th is sensational!

Had a gig with my two 20-th's yesterday - it was awesome (actually not only for me, but also for the people attending).

I would love to have a 20th silo in my collection of instruments.i had to pass up on one twice because of other financial commitments.

I have one of each. the neck contours feel exactly the same to me as well.

The 20ths got a sweeter tone due to the tone block's magic

20th is in a class all by itself. I was talking to Dizzy this past week and realized I haven't posted pics of my new 20th. I only sold mine to get a different configuration of the 20th, a hardtail. What a great axe, this is exactly what I wanted.....hardtail with natty headstock and a killer flame. Pics coming.

Getting back to your original question...if you can find a 20th you really should jump on it man...it is really a fine guitar.

Yup, the hardtail 20-th is the pure tone heaven.

That's why I will slightly modify my tremoloed 20-th. It is going to become the "sittrucci" - I will go for "Humbucker from Hell"/"Steve's Special" combo (a mix between the "images & words" and the pre-D-Sonic tone) and install a push-pull pot for the petrucci-like mid-position as well.

I'm very thrilled.

I wanted to go for this for my RW trem 20th. But because it's a piezo, I can't install a push pull. The HFH, which I tried is also not quite as nice as I expected. The Steve's Special on the other hand, is killer. That's still my fav DiMarzio bridge pup, though it's not as gritty as I'd like it to be.

To me, JP's tone (and playing) went to the dogs after he went to the D Sonic. His Steve's Special days are still my fav. (anyone remember Guitar Battle? Explorer's Club?) Especially since that Steve's Special was apparently specially made for him by Steve Bulcher (or so I've read). But people move on, I guess.

Yeah, I hear You, Lionel - to me the D-Sonic lacks a lot in comparison to the steve's special (did a lot of one-on-ones when I had both the older and the newer JP and a BFR JP). As for the Hum from Hell - I will give it a serious try, but if it fails to impress me, I will just go for the more obvious Air Norton. The push/pull is no biggie on the non-piezo 20-th I was told, so that I already begin to hear the cool mid-position with my inner ear

You want a nice split tone with the Steve's Special, try a PAF Joe in the neck. That's a killer combo of pups...

Thanks, Lionel, PAF Joe looks very promising indeed. Should I be unsatisfied with the HFH, I will defiinitely give it a try, promised!!!
