Yeah, the PODxt will do basically the same thing as far as recording a line level signal, but it doesn't have the headroom of the UX-2's line level inputs since it is based on guitar levels. That said, I recorded just fine using my PODxt Live as the interface through the guitar input, so you shouldn't have any problem.
