Thanks guys!

Hey Jon - if I were to get one, would I need to have the nut filed to adjust to 10-52s, or should I be good to go as is?

You should be OK, but you may have to open the 52 a bit. Just pull the string out of the nut slot, and you will be able to tell if it sticks in the slot. Most likely it will be OK as it is.

i use 10-52 on mine, no probs at all.

Really? Doesn't the string sit higher in the nut? Do you like a higher action generally? I just picked up a 20th Silo today (Yaaay! Thanks to my beautiful wife!!! - anyways, I digress). I restrung with STHBs and the low E string does not sit all the way down in the nut (same with A, and the D just a little). I think I'll have to widen out the slots a bit so the strings can sit good in the groove.

And BTW - best freakin' guitar ever!!!!!!

Thanks BP & crew!

More details to follow.

Congrats on the 20th, man!

It's important to open up/fit those tight nut grooves before tightening the strings. If not, that's often how you can bust a nut.

hey congrats man, another proud 20th Silo owner!! gotta grab these fine axes before its REALLY too late! Look forward to the pics.

I dont have any issues with the heavier guage, my low E sits maybe a tad higher in the slot. I generally use a slightly higher action, i'm not one for low shreddy actions. Am thinking of going back to the stock RPS 9's on mine for awhile....

If/when you have a chance to check them out, you might dig 'em. I'm enjoying them.

If you IM your addy to me I'll send you a set.

Or, if you try 10's on the bottom 3 and 9's on the top 3. Then if you dig them, I can order a dozen or so sets for you. We can square it through PayPal, if ya like.
