I just received my 20th earlier this week. It was "used" purchase and the previous owner had a setup done to at some point after buying it new.

The trem is sitting flush on the body of the guitar. Should the trem not be sitting slightly off the body? If so, how much would I need to raise it.

The reason I ask is that my Fender Strat '62 RI is slightly raised off the body plus it make more sense if want to use the bar and get that vibrato effect.

The other question is that there are 4 springs in the back. Is 4 normally what they are shipped out of the factory, or should I take one out?

Thanks,
Kent

Just put 3 springs in the back. If you want more of a floating trem, than loosen the trew claw in the back cavity so that the trem goes forward. I would not be raising the trem posts, as that will most certainly raise your action quite a bit. The LUKE is set up to float this way.

From the factory, the trem sits flush. You *can* set it up to float, ala the Luke. If it has the piezo option you won't want to have it floating though.

As Roubster says, it will take some trem claw adjustment to get it to float, you can keep the 4 springs or go back to 3, your call.

Thanks, that is exactly the information that I was looking for.
