Sorry but I just had to unearth this thread instead of starting a similar one...if anyone happens to have said wiring diagram it would be brilliant!

If it helps, the 20th Silhouette with piezo uses the same PCB as does the Axis SS piezo.

That is correct, but the pickups are wired to the pcb in a different way.

From another thread - http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-guitars/30856-wiring-diagram-silhouette-20th.html

Here is how the factory wires the original pickups in the 20th Anny Silo - these photos are correct, even though they do not match the color stamped on the board. It has to do with the way both pickups are wired for the middle toggle position.

A - White & Ground from neck
B - Green & Red from neck
C - Black from neck
D - Red to toggle
E - White & Ground from bridge
F - Green and Red from bridge
G - Empty
H - Black from bridge
I - Brown to toggle

If you connect the Green & Red from the bridge to position G (empty) instead of position F you will get a single coil from the bridge pickup. Double-check and make sure you have these wires in the correct position (position F)

The same goes if you take the Green & Red from position B and wire them to the unlabeled pad directly below B - you will get a single coil from the neck pickup.

It's easy enough to solder on the wrong pad while wiring/rewiring the pickups.

Pete,

Thanks for sharing this. I started this thread a while back trying to really find the basic schematic that shows which jacks to use for stereo/mono and so forth -- like they show for the JP6 and others on the MM website. I was getting confused about when I can and cannot use a TRS cable.

Did MM ever publish something like that?

Yes, there was a diagram that came from the factory with each new 20th. The jack closest to the strap button is the piezo/mono jack, and the jack closest to the lower horn is the magnetic/stereo jack.

Fortunately all MM guitars with piezo have the same layout (the basses are 1 mono jack only)
