Sorry I don't have a good closeup to show...I'm calling it "binding", but I'm not sure if that is the right word. I pulled my 20th off the wall last week to play a couple of gigs...gave it the full Wonder Wipes treatment and was looking closely at the stripe that goes around the perimeter of the top and am curious as to how they did that. Is it a simple pinstripe or something as complicated as a gap in the paint, exposing the wood under the clearcoat?

I was thinking the same thing earlier today while looking at the 25th Anniversary Axis bodies. I don't know what it is or how they do it, but it looks great!

ply as in thin veneer of wood....plywood is wood that has several plys glued together...your bass is ash with three ply (might be 5 my memory may be going with all this reverse headstock bs) then the maply cap on top....it gives it depth and definition

Thanks for the explanation. Much appreciated, as is the detail that went into this bass. The "plywood" comment was meant to be funny. And hey, let's not forget the mahogany tone block.

+1, i'm quite intrigued now, has BP accidentally let the cat out of the bag?

Yep, that's the BIG news for the 25th!!!!!!

just kidding. Someone started a thread inquiring about a reverse headstock option. It was met with with great vengeance and with furious anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers headstocks. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Blessed is he who in the name of a normal headstock, charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children.

And damn those skinny stringers!
