Greetings, I hope some one can clear this up for me. I was looking at a 20 SR5 HS and saw that one of the pup options shows coil 3 & 4. I presume coil 4 is the phantom in this configuration and this would be for single coil voicing?
Tks

Yes, coil 4 is a phantom coil under the single-coil pickup. It's there for hum-cancellation when using the single-coil.

Thanks Mynan, I take it this is the only single coil setting (neck pup) as opposed to the Single H which has the Bridge single and phantom?

I'm not going to tell you, you would have to buy it and figure it out yourself :D

The single-H 20th doesn't have a phantom coil. It doesn't have a single-coil setting.

No problem. It can be confusing. The nice thing is that with the addition of the Sterling5 to the lineup and the recent changes to the Stingray5, the whole Stingray4-Stingray5/Sterling4-Sterling5 thing is less confusing. The new Stingray5 single-H models are like the 20th in that they don't have a single-coil setting so there is no phantom coil. The Sterling5, like the Sterling4, still has it.
